Ive been doing a lot of work on my dad's c4 this past week. Id just like to say fuck you to the engineers at GM who thought it would be a good idea to put the right control arm next to the #2 spark plug. Also, who the hell did they design this car for? My dad is 5'10" 160 pounds, and barely fits.

But

The 5.7 TPI engine is my most favorite engine ever made in the entire history of automotives.

My Brother has a C4. I rarely see him since he lives in MD and I live in SC. I always end up having to wrench on it some way or another when I visit him. I have since limited my visits.

Great engine, but good GOD what a GARBAGE automobile.

Imagine standing back from that creation and thinking 'Yup, I'm finished here'. Unbelievable.

And then the way it drives... UGH.

Even the C6 still has leaf springs in the front and rear!!

Did the 80's produce any car that we would drive today? Hardly.

for it's time, the C4 Corvette was LIGHT YEARS ahead of the previous generation car, the 'Vette that I refer to as the disco vette. The previous car was like having a cucumber stuffed down your pants; no substance. no style. When the C4 came out, it was truly an attempt at a world class sports car. Was it a dead on attempt? Well, no. But, it was 1984 after all... even the super cars weren't that super.
but when you look at a car like the C4 through the lenses of today, ay yi yi, what a gargantuan clusterfuck of overengineering and underthought.

Yeah, but that was every car in the 80's, especially cars that had any semblance of performance.

But the Corvette is still an over-rated, poorly built, rattle trap. Yeah, the new ones are better, they're fast as fast as shit, but I've driven a pile of them and I wouldn't call them good.
