So, I was driving through town today and I saw something that made me go around the block for a closer look.

There is a beautiful black 2001 BMW 740i for sale. Asking $10,500. Claims to be great running, definitely looks fantastic. I would love to get into something like this, but I have to ask... a 2001... for $10,500??? is that reasonable? I do not currently know anything more about this car, but I'm going to try to swing by and snap a few photos and call the number on the car for more info.

Surprisingly, it looks a LOT like this one on the outside. I've not seen the interior yet.

As usual, your thoughts and comments are quite appreciated.

Thanks!

Electrical nightmare. Dont buy one thinking it wont happen, because it will happen.

Meh, electrical issues pretty much calmed down by the early 90's on those. Not a bad car. I have a few customers with that generation of 7 series and they've all been great cars.

Only if its a 6 speed ( which we didn't get ) but the good news is I hear a manual out of a 5 series is a bolt in, sorta.

How many miles?

A family relative sold his E38 after about 150k... he said it was a great car that "rode on rails" but that it had some major work to get there. It just got too expensive to repair he said, and that's why you can find them around $5k in some places

I think with this car, it is not the initial cost you should consider.
But the costs that come with owning it, once you've fallen in love with her, then she will show you what she's after. It's not your heart.

I'm sure. As with most women... it's not the heart, it's the wallet.

I'll still say they're pretty cheap to maintain.
