Everyone is recommending cars they are partial to. Thats why i hate threads like this.

Well, then, Mr. High and Mighty... I don't see you making any useful suggestions.

And I think the Caprice Wagon bears repeating. Plenty of cargo space, pretty plain, reasonable power and not terrible gas mileage, especially with the smaller engines.

boh my astro van wasnt THAT bad on gas mileage considering what shape it was in

TDI wagon or jetta TDI would be a descent choice they live for ever

i donno for 1500$ all you're gonna find is a beat up mk3 with probably a shit load of things to do on it, no options, and electrical issues are what make the mk3 so special.

If you find a mk4 for 1500$ avoid it.

The first gen ford taurus had the problem of being prone to Automatic Transmission failure. If you could find one with a manual you would be set. I only recommended the Mini Van because of the size and ability to gut the interior to a flat floor. None of the other suggested vehicles seem to be large enough for a grown man to sleep in and hold all the required gear.

The Caprice Wagon is also a good choice. I always wanted one when they were new.

Why? Hes not going to buy something because someone here recommended it, so why bother?

The Astro would not be a bad option either. It's however a bit overkill in my opinon for vehicle escort service.

I think a 3rd Gen Caravan with any of the V6 options would be best.

Thanks guys. I WILL be using the advice I get. Keep in mind Big Dave, I know Jeeps, I know them enough to understand that this type of work is out of their element. So when I'm getting outside of my bubble of knowledge, I want to hear all opinions. Chances are even if I don't use the car one person recommends, it doesn't mean I won't be able to use that information to help me make a choice. Thanks guys. Really.

I think you should get an Astro van. I take full credit when you buy one.

I would have suggested an F150.

Anything about the same size as the F150. You need a pickup truck for pilot service. Sometimes youve gotta mess with all kinds of dirty equipment. Do you really want dirty equipment inside a car?
