bandi does your GM dealer provide any tools? Scan Tools, slide hammers, ball joint forks, pullers etc...?

modify: off topic - bandi
I had a 2009 Yukon in on Friday from the US. It needed the DRL correction so they can not be switched off. I spoke to the GM Service Manager he told me that its actually a PCM reprogram, not a physical wiring change like in the old days. He said they use the VIN number, request from some GM website/tech line the Canadian module data, which is then downloaded to the scan tool via the internet and then flashed into the vehicles PCM. He told me it's GM specific and that an aftermarket scan tool can't do it. he charged 150 bucks to do it

seem reasonable and accurate or did I just get fukt?

GM has pretty much all the specialty tools you'd need to service their cars... but a lot have grown legs over the years. And we have a few Tech 2 scanners, as well as 2 MDIs (Multiple Diagnostic Interface... think of it as a wifi scan tool... you can connect to the vehicle thru your laptop and diagnose it/reprogram it/etc)

As for the DRL "activation"... it takes half an hour. What he told you was pretty accurate, but what they charged you was pretty outrageous. The tech has to do about 5 minutes of work and his laptop (aka Techline PC) and the MDI do the rest.

Most of my hand tools are Craftsman, the "about 75%" that was said earlier seems about right for me too.

The rest of my hand tools are a mishmash from wherever had what I needed at the time.

My plumbing tools are all Rigid.

My Power tools are mostly a mix of Craftsman and Porter-Cable. I have have a few Harbor Freight power tools and all the way up to a Bausch & Lomb precision lighting rig for fine detail work.

The personal responsibility train left the station years ago, and you gave it the finger as you watched it leave.
