Doubtful in Southern California. The wheels are probably powdercoated and mounted in Riverside by now. Its not upstate everyone knows everyone from the one county line to the other. We dont even know our next door neighbors here.

there was a guy on the SS site from San Diego... someone swiped his wheels under almost the same circumstances. They weren't as rare a wheel as the ones in this thread, but three weeks later, he was at a local wannabe spot and there they were were... mounted on another Cobalt. That guy was smart, he had the VIN to his Cobalt etched on the inside lip of them. The cops were called, the wheels were recovered.

of course, not always a happy ending...

	Random question: Can you not fabricate and install a spacer to compensate for the offset of these type of wheels to be mounted on any car?

You can buy them right off the shelf, either to space the wheel out from the hub, and in some cases to change a bolt pattern. However that's only one way. If the wheel needs to sit inside the wheel well further, that doesn't help

oh yeah those wheels on CL were not mine. i verified it before setting up a sting operation lol.

yes dave, i'll hit you up once we figure out what to do. i'm actually hoping that they'll turn up in a smaller town so i can involve police. but if popo doesn't cooperate, i'm going to set something up on my own.

my main concern with the doing of something on my own is the safety of my friends. down here, who knows if the thief is packing or not.
