Comics & Graphic novels ?

I'm a uber-fan of the graphic novel format - totally loving them. I'm into the non-super hero stuff and been captivated by some of the outstanding storytelling. I prefer Graphic novels and collected trade paperbacks instead of the individual weekly comics simply because I like to read a story arc in full (instead of having to wait for each weekly/monthly installment).

Anyway, anyone reading any good comics ? Recommendations ? I can recommend:

Conan (both the chronicles and also the newer collected stories)
Legend of Drizzt series
Okko (Cycles of Water, Earth...)
Transmetropolitan
Fables

and so many others............

My comic taste is.. odd.

Johnny the Homicidal Maniac
Squee!
I Feel Sick (These three by Jhonen Vasquez - the Invader Zim guy)
Milk & Cheese
Wet Moon (graphic novel)

There's more, but I can't remember right now. My comics have been in a box somewhere for a long time.

The Walking Dead.

It has 12 volumes so far and has been coined for a TV series coming this fall.

I tend to have something of a varied taste when it comes to graphic novels/comics. My favorites are:

Y: The Last Man
Transmetropolitan
Alias
Ex Machina
Ultimate X-Men
Irredeemable
Ghost World
Kill Your Boyfriend
The Pulse

I have a huge stash of underground comix from the 60's. Stuff like:
Zap
Mean Bitch Thrills
Dr. Atomic
True Romance
Fabulous Furry Freak Bros. etc.
You haven't been truly shocked by a comic until you've read "Captain Pissgums and the Pervert Pirates."

Awesome! I used to read these some time ago in my hazy uni days. Love the freak brothers. I'm inspired to hunt some copies down on ebay.

A nice list, Transmetropolitan was a good series and I liked the fucked up futuristic cityscapes it was set in. Y is also pretty good I thought, but I really liked 'Pride of Baghdad' that Brian Vaughan also wrote. Ex-Machina didn't gel with me. Ghost World and Kill your boyfriend are classics.

I'm also a fan of BotI. Have read maybe 13 or so volumes but haven't read any lately. The immortality bit is the only thing that bothered me though, otherwise I like the series because I love feudal era Japan stuff. Lone Wolf & Cub series is probably my favourite of the genre. I've actually been meaning to track down the animated series of BotI.

Currently my addictions are:

Preacher

The Boys(which is still going)

In the past my favorites have been:

The Invisibles

Transmetropolitan

Fell

In the future I want to check out:

Y: The Last Man

All Star Superman(I hate superheros, but supposedly Grant Morrison takes a different angle.)

Update.

I just bought "Chew". Brilliant! About a F.D.A. Agent who can psychically know about things by eating them. In a world where chicken is outlawed.

Fell was great! I'm not usually into detective, good cop having a bad day type stuff but I liked the dark atmosphere of it. I haven't read any on GM's super hero stuff, like you I hate super heroes too. But Grant Morrison is legendary so I might check out his super hero work. Mind you I recently read 'Marvel 1602' by Neil Gaiman which is the Marvel universe in year 1602. I thought Gaiman would take a different approach. Well it started out pretty good (real good actually), then about half way through all the dumb-ass super heroes came out and it turned into the usual mega brawl.
