Abstract and I have checked out the odd drain, but alas haven't been able to gain access to any. On top of that, most of the stuff in this area seems to be sanitary...

Thats awesome! Here in Oshawa -=HR=- has explored a few drains, one was a drop shaft drain that went in about 40 feet then there was a shaft to the next level, then it went on to 3 more shafts, then to a huge concrete box with a cage on top but we forgot a rope! So we had to head back down and come out where we started. And theres one that we haven't explored yet that splits into two pipes when you go down the sewer shaft after popping the lid! But thats about it except two small ones we explored!

I've long-been intrigued by draining but have never really had anyone to go with. I certainly wouldn't mind joinin up with some local people for a good drain expedition sometime!
Contrary to popular belief, death isn't just for dead people. I know I was surprised too! It can happen to anybody! Horses, fiddler crabs, even a potato can die! - Tick

Only one I ever did was under Uxbridge, the river that used to flow free but was covered by the town. Not too long, maybe 1km or so, but the history down there was amazing! Bridges from the 1800s, old foundations, you name it! That and bugs... I mean at times the ceiling looked like something out of an Indiana Jones movie, entire surface was alive and moving... still gives me the creeps some 15 years later...
