Hey guys, suspension and driveline stuff has never been my game, but when I was under my Jeep yesterday I noticed this little bugger broken clean in two.

It mounts right to the top of the front diff and then mounts on the frame, it was kind of cramped under there so I know that's not a good pic but that's a pic of where it mounts on the frame. What's it called so I know what to buy? I know better than to walk into a shop and say "My Jeep's making a funny noise, tell me what's wrong with it"

It's a '97 Wrangler, for the record.

Good deal, thanks man.

Yeah, I was looking at it and the thing's got two bolts in it so I knew it would be an easy swap, I just hate going into AutoZone and trying to describe what I need...9 times out of 10 you get the wrong part even if you know exactly what it is.

Yep, found it online as an upper control arm for $29. I'm trying to whip the old girl back into shape...the previous owner let a lot of stuff go, like that. It was broken clean in two and has been like that for a while (you can hear it rattling when you let off the gas sometimes) and it's been welded back together before. Also on the list is a new track bar, and it's severely out of alignment. Poor old Jeep.

LOL, us jeep folk can be pretty mean to the body and interior of our mules, but we usually keep the greasy stuff greasy so to speak.

Oh I'm fine with using the body and interior to its full potential, but I want to try and keep it in good running and driving condition.

Hell, in the time that I've had it, I've stripped the remaining carpet out and pulled all the drain plugs and left them out, it's never been washed, I've dented a fender (dumpster) and broken a light (deer).

I'm one of the people who believes a stock, clean Jeep is a waste of a perfectly good Jeep
