For me it's the Coast LED Lenser. I'd love something with the quick flood-to-throw mechanism that runs on AAs like it does but I can't really get behind it because they're just so overpriced for what they are.

Well what do you think of this? $25.00 with shipping and extension tube for use with AA batteries.

Romisen RC-N3 CREE Q5 LED Flashlight
Guy says its rated to 210 lumens.

"Now uses premium WC tint Cree XR-E Q5*"

Your thoughts ladies and gentlemen?

Any man who can hitch the length and breadth of the galaxy, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through, and still know where his towel is, is clearly a man to be reckoned with.

"Ah, this is obviously some strange usage of the word 'safe' that I wasn't previously aware of."

The RC-N3 is great, as far as budget lights go - mine is the only survivor of my cheap light phase

Is that one through shiningbeam? I'd go for it.

Shiningbeam it is my friend. Thank you much for your input, I think I will get it. For 25 bucks i mean where do you go wrong for at least a halfway decent torch. I was half tempted to go for the Colorblinded special Sunway M40A, but as this thread suggests I couldnt bring myself to do it lol.

Thanks MeatWaffle!

It is! Meta is the singer, guitarist and bassist and sometimes he subs drums for himself. Its quite a show as pyrotechnics have been replaced with flashlights on drills.

The 4Sevens Maelstrom S12. It's smaller, brighter, longer lasting, and otherwise better in every way than my Fenix TK30, which cost the same. However, I so rarely use the TK30 that I couldn't possibly justify buying something to replace it.

Meta, I'm considering their X10. It looks like it could even be pocketable (Especially with cargo pants)
My new lust is the LUX-RC FL33... 1280 lumens OTF
4.5" long and 1.1" wide
http://www.lux-rc....ts/complete_lights
Carries a hefty price tag at $380ish ='x

Yes and I do like it but as I've learned from testing the Olight SR90 and SR91 and the Howitzer lights that large and heavy (Good ole Mag light size) are usually destined to sit in the truck or be left on the 4 wheeler. Now the S18 looks to be a bit smaller and even has a holster so it may be an option but at this point I would rather have that LUX-RC FL33

Although my most used flashlights lately have been my RA Clicky Rotary and my trusty 4sevens Turbo XP-G. And a couple different headlamps.

Valid point! I don't use my TK30 or Solarforce Masterpiece at all, even though they're much smaller than the old Mags - I generally just use a Quark

I know right! I used to LOVE my 2D-4D cell mag's and eventually magLED. Carried them everywhere once the sun went down. Then I was introduced to my first Surefire 6PLED and it was all uphill from there lol. When I was a youngin I had a few smaller lights I would pocket or throw in my bag then back in 2003ish I got a real small Dorcy 1W that went everywhere with me.
