Guy finds turbo on the way back from H20 (second largest VW show in North America) and tracks down the owner! Kinda restores your faith in people.

I'll agree. It's a good crowd.

Absolutely LOVE working for Volkswagen, too.

the j-body crowd used to be like this, but too many little wanna-be's around. I never bothered with any Delta-body functions.

Most of the Jeep and even the hardcore Mopar communities are like that.

Most Audis aren't rebadged Volkswagens. I'd say you're thinking too much along American lines, but even GM does a good job differentiating Cadillacs from Chevys these days. Cadillac's rise is exciting. On the other hand, Lincoln is one of the few luxury brands left whose range consists of tarted up Fords. The most misguided car buyer in Canada is the man or woman who shells out the $73,000 Canadian for a Lincoln Navigator, a dressed up Expedition. You'd think that $73,000 would buy an amazing vehicle, but the Navigator shows that you can't be sure.

The Passat is an Audi A4.

I work for Volkswagen. It's the exact same car.

The truck verson of the Escalade is a rip off in that sense too... it's just an Avalanche that costs a fuck of a lot more... and you can still get an Avalanche with nice leather and without the greasy Cadillac front end. And both models are going to have terrible water leaks, so go for the cheaper one.

isn't the Audi TT based on the same chassis as the Golf and New Beetle?
And the Audi SUV sits on the same chassis as the Cayenne and Toureg?

Yup, yup, yup... TT is a MKIV platform.

The Touareg/Cayenne/Audi thing are all based on the same platform, but have a ton of mechanical differences, basically the chassis structure is all that's shared.
