So 2 months ago I got busted for paraphernalia under really shitty circumstances, which I won't go into for the sake of brevity.

Anyway they suspended my license for 6 months, but I was able to get work and school privileges.

I went to court today on a motion to restore my drivers license under emergency hardship since my dad has come down with stage 3 larynx cancer and my mom's disabled. Little did I expect a surprise drug test.

Naturally being the pothead I am having smoked last night I failed the drug test and am surely not going to get my license restored early. Do you guys think they'll take away the privileges I already have too?

It depends on the judge.

Have you been convicted before and how old are you, if you don't mind me asking. It depends though solely on the judge.

Do nothing to make him angry, say nothing if you can help it and if necessary...find yourself a good lawyer. That positive test is going to make whoever your judge is very very angry. I can almost bet on it. He could make your situation worse, hopefully not, but it could get much much worse.

They didn't give you a conditional license? In NY, in certain circumstances, you can get a "conditional" driver's license while doing your suspension time for DWI. You probably won't get full privileges restored any time soon, but if there is a conditional program, you might get that, even with the failed drug test.

My advice...stop smoking until you get this conviction cleared. I know it's hard, but man, if you want your license back, get your shit together for the next few months and quit smoking till you get everything back, then...don't get caught.

Were you driving while you were high? If so, then NO CAR FOR YOU.

Also, the next time (there's always a next time) someone tells you to piss in a cup, try instead to piss on their shoe.

And then inform them that what you did the night before is none of their fucking business.

No I wasn't even driving at all. My best friend got robbed and shot in the stomach by some passerby while outside smoking at a party. I went to the hospital that night to get some news on his condition but forgot I still had a pipe on me. It set off the metal detector. For some reason in Ohio's revised code that meant losing my license 6 months in addition to the fines.

I was granted conditional privileges, but because my dad's cancer my mom pushed me into going for restoring the whole thing.

Anyway I pretty much stayed quiet and only answered what he asked and luckily I still have the privileges that were previously given. It just sucks because now my work schedule is incongruous with when I can drive. Either way I'm happy with the way it worked out. The whole situation could have been much worse.
