I've been wanting to get my CDL B, but I got two 1110A traffic violations (I think the equivalent of running a stop sign). Can I still apply for a CDL?

Yes you can. But if your able to, get your A's. I got my B's first and had them for 9 years before I got my A's. It opens up more doors and isn't honestly any harder. If you just want B's see if your local school district needs substitute drivers, they will often pay for it all and if you substitute for em a couple times, they will cut ya loose from the "contract". Good luck and any questions feel free to ask.

Edit: I don't know the NY state laws 100%. And it does vary by state. So if anyone from NY knows for sure, please let him know. I don't see why it would, but better safe than sorry.

As long as they've been paid or discharged from your driving record, you should still be able to get a CDL in NY. After you get a CDL in NY, then you have to be really careful about tickets. Depending on the violation, your CDL can be suspended or revoked just for one little ticket. It will definitely be revoked for two convictions for traffic violations in three years.

HazMat endorsement requires a federal TSA background check, as well as fingerprinting and that costs another 150 dollars on top of the license fees. Bus driver requires a similar background check.
