| | | Posted by Wiccan I'd love to chime in here but I can't just now. Because apparently my car didn't appreciate the -35 temperature and three feet worth of snowblowingeverywherebutstraightup about a week ago. Hasn't started since. Now THAT is a piss off as well.
| One of my friends lives in Edmonton, he works for a company based out of the Toronto Area. He does service for all of Edmonton and surrounding area, he is the only employee there, so he must handle all calls. His work truck, that the company owns, keeps refusing to start due to the cold and refuses to move due to the crappy all season tires with over 120,000km wear on them. Every time the truck won't start, he has been told to boost it or let it warm up for awhile. It is a large Sprinter that won't fit inside his garage, and they refuse to install a block heater or do any maintenance on the truck... he feels like banging his head against a wall every time he has to deal with the boss in Toronto. They finally agreed to put new tires on the truck for him, but they had to tow it to the shop because it wouldn't start. His boss was happy, thought if it sat in the shop for a few hours and warmed-up, it would start.... but what about the next time??? He needs to visit Edmonton for a couple days in the middle of January to see the difference between Southern Ontario and the rest of Canada.

| I'd never had to use a block heater until I moved here. But yeah,if your friend doesn't have one on his truck he's pretty much screwed. I have delightful all season tires too, just lovely for our roads that get smoothed down to an ice rink, not plowed.
