I've recently rescued a DDR german shepard. He came from the local shelter as a lost dog he wasn't chipped or neutered...he is now.
I'm in eastern nebraska and I can't find anyone even remotely close to here that breeds them.
He is incredibly well trained, very protective, and very serious he seems to have no desire to play with toys or chase things. He will stay in or on (back of a pickup) vehicles for hours and not move unless you tell him. He's house broken and never had an accident even the first night I had him. He's very alert to strangers coming to my house or coming near me in public. It makes me think he's had some training in protection or done schutzhund or similar.
Anyone have any resources on them mostly just looking to talk to people with similar dogs and figure out how or where I could adopt others.
DDR shepherds in google brings up a few breeders and some history on the breed but not much else. I'm not much on buying from a breeder and their prices are $1500+ for a puppy and $5000+ for a trained adult.
Any input about them would be great
