Comparing the CJ3A to the Bronco is like comparing the Cobalt to a Ford Taurus...

this is whats so awsome about SOME jeeps.
this bitch still runs and is used on the trail every day im up north. The trails are man made (my grandfather and uncles and myself) in our 100 acres of forrest

its got a wood roof, metal seats, and a massive hole in the floor. oh and a wood gas pedal.

Funny side story, i was driving this in the trail in low gear with a friend sitting on the bucket passenger seat when the wood pedal slipped and I hammered it by mistake we hit the log bridge over one of the swamps, well he fell off the bucket and with his amazing coordination ending up somehow kicking me in the throat and I fell out of the door onto the trail. my neck was sore and he somehow cut the top of his head in the jeep

Well, Jeeps won wars, Hondas cut grass. Jeep has its legend. Now first gen Broncos are pretty stout machines. But, in that era, it was really more Jeep, International, Ford. And I have wheeled all 3. One was built for the dirt more than the pavement. Guess.

i've driven all three (well four if you consider the Scout II different than the Scout) and the Bronco is more livable machine to have. The Scouts were rotboxes, the Jeeps were twitchy, but the Broncos had the right mix of the two... power, comfort and GO ANYWHERE. If you could've seen some of the places i took that Bronco, especially while self-medicating, you'd stop the debate right here.

um... have you ever looked under the hood of a fucking 66-76 Bronco? MacGuyver could fix that shit with a stick up bubble gum, a paperclip and a cigarette butt.

I'm talking about more than the engine, look at weight, suspension, etc. Sam, I'm not saying they are not a good off road vehicle, just pointing out that the CJ was aimed more at off pavement use. It has a HUGE lack of comfort, convenance or anything else really. For better or worse, the Jeep was more at home in the dirt than any other choice at the time. Thats not saying the Bronco wasn't an excellent wheeler too, I just won't concede that its better than a CJ of the same era. Keep in mind that the Honda Ridgeline got truck of the year once. Just because something gets media awards doesn't mean its the best

Front wheel drive American car of questionable build quality, both of which had fast versions made?
