I work at a firm that does not give a FREE initial consultation. Last week, we gave a 2 hour consultation and in the end, the guy claimed he thought it was a free consult.

My boss lost it, and had me completely overhaul our client intake agreement. All the while, he was yelling about how when HE has a dentist appointment, he has to pay before he leaves. When he has a doctor's appointment, he has to pay before he leaves. And why on earth would anyone think that they could get a service rendered to them and leave without paying . . . . blah blah blah.

The next day, my boyfriend finished working on my bosses car. (he's a mechanic). When my bf gave him the bill, my boss said that he would "submit it to accounts payable." That was a week ago.

Yesterday my bf called him and said "whats the deal with your bill" to which my boss rudely responded "I can't believe your calling me for a check".

Fucking hypocrite - and I have to see this jackass everyday.

does your boyfriend still have the bill? Here in NY, if you don't pay a mechanic/shop bill, you can have a mechanics' lien put on the vehicle. You have 'x' amount of days to pay the bill or the vehicle goes to the mechanic/shop. Have a nice day.

We have a new "Property Manager" or shall I say "Property Mis manager". Total idiot, tyrant and hypocrite as well.

Several changes are being made which I don't like. I've asked for a transfer so I don't intend to be around much longer there.

One of the things that pissed me off is that the idiot demands I stay back past my shift and do errands for him (with no pay of course) and yet, when he's heading out the door at least 45 minutes before his day is done. Another thing is that there were a number of responsibilities his secretary had prior to his arrival. She's now excused from them (they were dumped on the superintendent, me and the cleaners). His 'excuse' for this was that she needs to be at the phone so the residents will always have an answer to their call.
Sure, then please explain why he leaves 45 minutes BEFORE the office closes and she leaves 40 minutes BEFORE the office closes. The asshole has said he wants me to start answering the phones as well so every time their phone rings, I or the guard on duty will have to run into their office to pick up. Nope! I think the real reason he doesn't want her leaving the office to tend to her responsibilities is that he doesn't want to lose a few minutes of staring at her tits! I wonder what her husband and his wife would think of this?

Oh, and as for his demand I stay past my shift, I loved the look on his face when I just went handed the keys over to the next guard, headed to the washroom to change out of my uniform to my street clothes and headed out the door. He got the "F**k you" message very loud and clear.

Blah!!!

Sorry for that mini rant but after nearly a month of that asshole, I'm ready to lay a beating on him!!! Of course, the first impulse to lay a beating on him came up about 20 minutes after he started at the building.

Debi, I don't know the laws regarding unpaid bills there but as suggested, if your BF can do it, get a lien on the car and if possible, take the car. If he can take the car, do it as publicly as the law allows. I wonder what the asshole's customers would say if they see him not paying his bills?

Well, found out a few months ago that the dickhead manager was fired. Turns out he went on vacation and his relief was finding many messes. So much for being an excellent manager eh?

As for me, I got removed from the building about a year ago. The guy had me removed saying I was incompetent, lazy and had an attitude. Glad to hear he really screwed up before being canned himself.
