Two of my favorites, though I'll admit I'm not big on poetry, I do have favorites.

This Is Just To Say

the plums
that were in
the icebox

saving
for breakfast

Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold

Love In the Asylum
By Dylan Thomas (my favorite drunk bastard)

A stranger has come
To share my room in the house not right in the head,
A girl mad as birds

Bolting the night of the door with her arm her plume.
Strait in the mazed bed
She deludes the heaven-proof house with entering clouds

Yet she deludes with walking the nightmarish room,
At large as the dead,
Or rides the imagined oceans of the male wards.

She has come possessed
Who admits the delusive light through the bouncing wall,
Possessed by the skies

She sleeps in the narrow trough yet she walks the dust
Yet raves at her will
On the madhouse boards worn thin by my walking tears.

And taken by light in her arms at long and dear last
I may without fail
Suffer the first vision that set fire to the stars.

i really like that second one.

one of my favorites, off the top of my head.
i like the first part the most.
though really, im trying to be more positive, this still speaks to one of the parts that exist inside of me, inside of any of us. maybe?

im nobody.
who are you? are you nobody, too?
then there's a pair of us.. shh! dont tell!
they'd banish us, you know..

how dreary, to be somebody.
how public, like a frog..
to tell your name, the live-long day
to an admiring bog.

A man said to the universe:
"Sir I exist!"

for all of us to remember..

it is only this,
