my grand prix is running fine, but i find it odd im getting between 90 and 100c as an engine temp on my scangaugeii and im getting 85 on the dash. my question, which reading should i trust. the car doesnt seem to be over heating, the rad hoses are hot and warm, the coolant levels are stable.

I know you're being a smart ass, but yeah, the dash one is pretty inaccurate generally, it's a matter of where the needle was plopped onto the shaft.

Scan tool is an actual numeric readout.

Never trust the dash gauge. If you reallly want an accurate reading, get a good aftermarket gauge. None of that Sunpro crap either. Factory calibrations are so far off, the gauges might as well be lights.
