See, that's a huge gap with religion and science. We don't require proof to believe what we believe. We allow for faith, and I totally understand that science requires proof. You will never be able to prove religion using science because then it would not be religion requiring faith, it would be science fact.

Douglas Adams (an avowed atheist) made a similar point in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, except that he went one step farther and said that without faith, god is nothing and ceases to exist.

That blog that I am fond of re-posting stuff from did a series on free will. I didn't read the whole thing, but it basically said that free will is an illusion. I think it regarding more important decisions than whether to have a PB&J or a turkey sandwich for lunch. More like whether to kill someone or not. I can post a link if someone is interested.

	i was listening to the news this morning... the radio in the control room was tuned to a country station (leftover from the 11-7 crew) and they were reading the results of a survey stating that 44% of americans polled feel that the disasters in Japan and other parts of the world are an indication that god is angry with the world. how fucking stupid is 44% of america? these are the same imbeciles that believe in angels, too.

Were they laughing when they reported this, or were they taking it seriously, like they agreed with the 44 percent?

I could argue how illogical these people are, but there doesn't seem to be much point.

	My mum told me about this book the other day. I'd like to read it. I don't have any concrete beliefs about the afterlife. I don't claim to know that there is or isn't one. I suppose when I die I will be neither disappointed nor impressed.
