So what you're saying is that the bible and what it teaches is "hateful"? Because the teachings that I repeat are directly from the bible. But you wouldn't know because you haven't read it, but claim to know ALL, especially the history of Christ. Makes perfect sense. You just don't like it, so you call it hate.

THIS.

If this developes into "wiccan equal rights", I'm outta here. I actually dated a wiccan... They do (or at least she did) "cast spells" or curses, or at least claim to. FUCK THAT!

Also, I dont think anyone thinks positively of wiccans... I mean, they worship the devil for crying out loud, what good can come from that???

Should someone be fired for their beliefs? No. They should be fired if they cant perform their job properly or impair the work of others. And in this case, she was striking fear into other coworkers, making for a fear based work environment. If I was a manager, I would fire/review the person causing the fear and worries. Anything that impairs productivity or moral of employees, needs to be addressed and taken care of. In this case, you cant change a persons beliefs or how people perceive them, so you remove the problem. What other choice do you have???

How does your bible support this and how is this in any way have anything to do with love?

AND, you have not read the bible. You have read a translation, of an edit, that was written after the fact. Ask anyone who knows more than one language, and they will tell you that your brain thinks differently. There are words in other languages that don't exist in the English language and vise versa. So how do you know your translation is correct? Because the church tells you so.

Btw, this isn't about christianity, but you chose to go off on it and attack, who sounds more hateful here??

You are talking about the bible. . . The Christian bible. Sorry dude. You can't play victim here with that crap. Oh I'm being hateful? No, I'm being mean. I call bullshit, just like how I call bullshit on just about anyone who either isn't making sense or is being a hypocrite. As I said, stop hiding behind these vague ideas of faith and the bible as a way to undercut what I'm saying. If you are not a Christian, and are of some other denomination then speak up and prove me wrong. But only a christian would equate wicca with devil worship. And that is why I call you out in such a way. You backwards faith and lack of internal insight cause you to walk blind in things that are much above your head.

I love you, but you are very ignorant. I have my faults too, but you don't see me attacking who you are.

And calling me ignorant is like farting moonbeams, sunshine and flowers in my general direction? Really? Come on.

I'm done.

No you are not. You are going to be back, and with a vengeance. Attacking with vagueness and half insults. With self righteousness because you are on the winning side.

Nope, you win. You're clearly right. I cannot argue with your undeniable truth.

Back on topic. What I wonder is, did TSA fire her because of her beliefs or was it because she did have genuine personnel issues? We all know what TSA was claiming. But do we believe their reasons?

As someone in office management I know damn well that it is very common practive to knit-pick every mistake a person makes to document their fuck-ups in order to fire them when under it all, they are getting fired because someone who matters just plain does not like them. Do you think this is what happened here?

Proves nothing as I'm not an Atheist. My ideas of "god" go way beyond this idea of an imaginary friend. I have seen too much to assume that all I can perceive is the truth. Religion is a hindrance to that understanding. Moreover, it causes misunderstandings and hate in people who are bound to believe different things.

Quite possibly. I know I have been fired for lesser things. Like for not being Moroccan and working at a Moroccan restaurant.

But I wouldn't be surprised if it was her own faith that caused the dislike in the first place. Misconceptions much like mr fiends. On the flip side of that, I have know some Wiccans to be quite uppity about what they believe. You put the two together and it is not pretty.

Do you even know what my truth is? Lemme spell it out: Not a single person can have a grasp on absolute truth. No one. No book will give it to you, it can't be spoken. Yet we all have a piece of it. Not just people, either. look at a rock and it has as much truth in it as a Library. Some ass clown who cuts you off in traffic is a much a teacher as college professor.

Why did I snap at you in the first place? Because I hate lazy thinking. Hate it. I think we can all do much better.

Funny, the most self righteous and passive aggressive groups I can think of are Christians and Deadheads. I wonder why that is?

I think we're making progress. Baby steps

Back on topic. What I wonder is, did TSA fire her because of her beliefs or was it because she did have genuine personnel issues? We all know what TSA was claiming. But do we believe their reasons?

I think it was pretty obvious that she wasn't very well liked. I also think that is is directly based on her religion. All of the comments people would spit at her were about that. Ex: "Where did you park your broom stick" "OMG she's gonna curse meeeee!!!1" The reason this whole clusterfuck started was because that one woman accused her of messing up her heater with a "curse". If anyone should be fired it should be that idiot. But that's besides the point... As for causing "fear" in the work place, that is a result of pure ignorance and lack of proper and civilized communication.

Edit: Another reason the "fear" spread so much was probably directly because of the loud mouth woman who started the cursed heater bullshit. If someone says they are Wiccan, sure that can cause people to ask questions, but if someone runs around screaming, "OH MY GOD SHES A WITCH SHES GONNA CURSE US ALL AND SHE WORSHIPS THE DEVIL HOLY SHIT" that will DEFINITELY cause some panic.

Enough with the cheap shots, both of you!

There are a million threads where you can bicker about who's religion is right and what is so wrong with everyone else's.

This is not one of them. The ability to NOT STAY ON TOPIC is what you have proven me completely correct about.

What ha happen waz...

Wiccan gets job. She's a little flaky (did I mention she's Wiccan?).

Her mentor is a crazy, closed-minded bitch, and doesn't like her.

Due to being observant and generally in-tune with people, the Wiccan does well at her job, achieving bonus-reward performance levels in a short time.

She tells someone that she is Wiccan. Nothing much happens right away.

Eventually, word spreads to crazy bitch, who didn't like her anyway, and she, either through her own delusions, ignorance, and hatred, or as part of an evil plan that she is concocting with her supervisor boyfriend, complains that the WITCH IS CURSING HER!

The evil bitch begins a campaign of gossip and ill will against thew Wiccan.

The Wiccan, unaware of the plan against her that has been put into effect, notices a change in the work environment, subtle at first. As it worsens, she begins to complain about the harassment that she is receiving.

The manager recognizes that the crazy bitch is crazy and stupid, but simply because she is Christian, she cannot under any circumstances be told that what she believes is idiotic.

The manager tries to deal with it professionally, and bumbles around for a bit, but since he can't figure any way to tell the crazy, hate filled Christian woman that she is full of shit, he gets on board with the plan to get rid of the Wiccan.

From then on, she is harassed and fucked with, going so far as forcing her to make choices that would result in her either breaking policies or not doing her job well. She admirably chooses to do her job well and gets written up for breaking policy.

The organized plan to remove her is irrefutable. Her biggest crime was not being Christian, and the conspiracy to get rid of her was driven by hatred and ignorance.

Well I'm not christian... but I do know a thing or two about their religion.

One thing I am sure of is that Jesus, the big guy, would NEVER speak out against homosexuality.

So me, personally, I see nothing wrong with it. Sure, it's not my thing. But neither is sports... that does not make it bad... just not for me.

agreed. Jesus at the time hung out with the people who looked down upon. which at the time would've been homosexuals among others. Jesus is a pretty cool dude, so i think at some point he would've been like, "hey guys all this anal fisting has gotta stop otherwise you can't hang out with me later."

as for Leviticus, real Christians shouldn't even be listening to it, bc when jesus showed up he said he was the new covenant and the laws of the old covenant(the old testament) no longer applied. Also i'm pretty sure God and Jesus have more to worry about than who you are in love with or how you have sex.

Right. New covenant. Old Jewish laws no longer apply. So, where did Jesus say "no butt sex?"

He didn't.

Ever.

Jesus' whole thing was that he did not speak against anything(except for the money changers). That was his whole point! He was a lover, not a hater. He spoke about what was GOOD about humanity and he NEVER said ANYONE was going to hell. PERIOD.

I was generalizing. One employee, two employees, a mentor, two mentors. What I was getting at was that one person was scared by someone elses beliefs. Doesnt matter if one person or several people were scared. The employer must address the problem. And they did address it, by firing the self proclaimed witch/wiccan.

People fear what they dont understand. You really cant do anything about that. TSA is trying to run a business, they dont have time or money to waste on solving peoples preconceptions. So they fire the person who is the root of the issue. Maybe not right, but it sure did solve the problem quickly.
