I just bought a 91' Nissan Stanza 4-cylinder 5 speed manual

Just searching around on google it looks like the engine was put in a lot of different vehicles. Anyone drive one, how do they hold up? Any known issues?
I just got it for a daily driver, its beats pounding pavement with my lifted V-10 truck.

Check for rust, 90's Nissans are prone to rotting out from the bottom up.

I think the body is really solid not any visible rust anywhere on the body or suspension components that I can see. It'll get a closer inspection this weekend.

I haven't done much to this thing yet but I think it only has 4 plugs but the motor was in the 240Z so who knows.

I'm planning on changing all fluids over the weekend, maybe plugs and wires if it needs it. I got 28 MPG the first tank I ran through it so I'm guessing its in a fairly decent state of tune. Only 76K miles and only $500 so I feel like I got a pretty good deal.

Sounds good. As far as I'm aware Nissan engines are pretty solid.

mechanically, a Nissan Stanza is FUCKING BULLETPROOF. Sticking point was the automatic transmission (in my experience). Big problem with them, though, is the body rot. Nissans of that era seem wickedly prone to corrosion... i've seen Sentra's, 200SX's and Altimas literally rot in half! Just check underneath the car, especially around the suspension and subframe hardpoints.

My parents first new car back in 1989 was a Nissan Sentra Wagon and man, that thing was awesome...before we traded it up in 1992 for a Dodge Caravan, we put on 250,000 miles on it with only regular maintenance and putting in a new muffler.

sounds like my friends pickup, at the end the cab was holding to the frame by the seatbelt brackets!

And all newer Nissans are prone to being fucking hideous.

I kinda like the Stanza. I don't think we got them in Canada but my grandpa had like 5 of them. At the same time.

Yep, I believe it was... that's actually what my grandpa purchased after the fleet of Stanzas.

I remember the Stanza having some weird louvers on the tail lights...
