There's a building that's been empty for a bit now, and is getting demo'd soon. It got a BIRD sign put on the front yesterday and a large dumpster at the side of it today. Lights were still on tonight when I drove by, so they haven't cut power yet (I figured it'd still be alarmed so I didn't even bother checking it out). I'll be out of town all weekend, but if anyone wants to keep an eye on it over the next couple days and possibly get in there between power cutting and significant demo starting, message me and I'll tell you where it is (if you don't already know what I'm talking about). Small place, I don't suspect it's insanely cool, but yea.

New laptop $400
Gas wasted exploring $80
SD-to-laptop USB picture off load device $40
Sticking SD card in USB picture off load device and noticing laptop doesn't pick up the insertion of said USB device (even though it should)..... PRICELESS!!

For everything else, there's dumbass....

Wow, they really worked quick on Mitchell Copp. I'd been driving by there daily for work, for a while. Then got sidetracked elsewhere and suddenly BLAM.

I had every opportunity to check that place out and I didn't. Can only blame myself.

For all the hype and interest around Winnipeg's abandoned tunnel system it blows my mind that no one checked the A&B sound building while it was being demolished or when the foundation was exposed.

didn't dig around too much but went and took quick look while it was open to see if that 'legendary tunnel' we were told about back in the day was there, based on where they said the basement door would be - nothing. sounds like complete bullshit to me.

Yeah, its pretty funny. I remember people claiming they had explored the abandoned subway. Only problem is it was never built.

was wondering what was happening to christie. Wondered why they cleaned it out so much before taking down, but that explains it.

and things are (in general) more chill there than here it seems. Not as many alarms, and being in abandonments is not as big of a deal in a lot of places
