I'm just curious if anybody has had a three-way fling or relationship that they think worked out perfectly or at least as planned. I know most people believe they ruin relationships or make things awkward after. I was in one and was left by one person for the other person, but I think it was a blessing in disguise and was worth the experience. I was also 16- love and lose at that age, really.

yes i have. 3 times with a past g/f and her friend, i dont think it hurt "our" relationship at all. and way back, 2 times with my exwife and and old friend of mine. again it did not hurt that relationship.

entering into such an event takes alot of trust as you stated, it CAN destroy a relationship.

It depends on all three people. The most important thing is trust and communication. If you and your partner are very open and comfortable, you enjoy trying new things in the bedroom, and neither of you get jealous too easily, you will probably be fine. If you find a third who is open minded, understands and respects your relationship, is comfortable with themselves, and able to communicate freely, then you're set.

Some people like to discuss this thoroughly before getting to it. That's most likely best, especially if certain boundaries need to be established. Sometimes a spontaneous, slightly under the influence experience can work out incredibly too.

I highly recommend this book: http://www.amazon....=1304180518&sr=8-1 Great advice on communication that can be applied to any relationship. Also has a lot of advice on opening up to threesomes, foursomes, etc.

While I don't think a 3some would ever work with the current relationship (neither of us really has the desire for one) I'm looking forward to the read! I'm always interested in how others think about such things

I laughed, I thought both scenarios were going to end with the wife leaving

Well, it was me, Sam, Copper the dog and Sally the cat for a long time...looks like it may be us again, minus poor Copper. I miss that silly dog.

I pm'd him and told him to get another one. He never replied. I assume he was crying into his cereal (it was a Friday)

I told him the same thing. I think his mom is smarting from it still. I think he needs another dog, like yesterday.

I think once you realize you're not replacing the first one because nothing could ever replace it and the guilt dies down it's much easier.
It can take an awful long time though

Couple times, and it usually works for a few hours.

I'm confused, are we talking like, just having a threesome? Or being in a 3some *relationship*??

I'm pretty sure you can't call my experiences with that "relationships". *shrugs*

Something that's overnight is still a relationship as long as it's meaningful right?

over night 3-way is not a relationship. over the entire weekend is a bonus! (2 times...)

I've had a one night stand 3 some haha. Sorta. My close friend at the time and his female friend. No one was dating each other. And I don't talk to either one now, so it's even better now.

Though I spit in their breakfast. Because I was downstairs cooking for everyone while they were fucking.

I would never do it with someone I was emotionally invested in. No fucking way.

Why did you spit in their breakfast? I'll be sure to never eat anything that's been near you.

If you spit in there breakfast, it would seem to me that there was SOME kind of emotional investment.

One time with a HS friend and his female friend... Still great friends with one, and dont talk to the other (since the time it happened), guess it can go both directions.

Once, a FWB and a mutual friend. I think the trick is to let the girls take the initiative.

Still best friends with the first and thinking about dating the second.

And the Ethical Slut is great, just keep in mind you pick how far you want to go down the poly scale, not all relationships have to go as poly as the author's.
