Sorry kids I don't have a photo of it to post, but I am curious about it. A couple weeks ago while riding freight in Norther Ontario we past a WHITE signal...I saw if as sure as day.

Any Idea what it could be?

A few sidings on CN's subdivisions have white arrow indicators (similar to an advance green traffic light) that tell the train crew if their train will be entering the siding.

Otherwise, possibly a busted signal lens?

It was a brand new LED light and post. Someone on a train hopping forum said it's to give the railroad a 4th spectrum to work with but I'm not sure why all of a sudden they need new colours.

Interesting. Could be a 'Lunar White' signal. Not common in Canada (but they do exist, apparently) and not covered in the CROR.

I've seen white a few times; it was called "Lunar White" and it was described to me as "proceed prepared to stop short"

"Approach Restricting"(signal). I have seen it on the BN in New west BC, and used at the BN/CN CP interlocking derail, many times. Often in reversing movements.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too!

Once you figure out that answer, let me know. Cause I seem to have the same problem. I know SP used Lunar White because I have one in my collection. A search light signal that has one of the colors Lunar White. Though I can't recall off the top of my head what it meant. Seems like what the guys said above is correct though.
