| | | So I was supposed to receive a package today that contains a truck bed mattress. I ordered it over a week ago so I would have no problems getting it for this coming holiday weekend (or so I thought). It was shipped to me via UPS, and all week their tracking system had it on time for delivery today. Now today comes and when I go to check.. Delayed due to adverse weather conditions. But here's the kicker.. the last location it was supposedly scanned at was Saddlebrook, NJ. Which is 10 minutes from where I'm located. Outside MY window it's 80F and there's not a cloud in the sky. Interesting UPS, interesting indeed. I'm willing to go pick up the package from UPS facility, I have no problem driving there in the supposedly inclement weather, so I call up the seller to see if they can give UPS a call and set that up. Not a problem, seller says, they'll call me back with details. Seller calls me back and tells me that pickup is impossible because UPS told them the package is NOT actually in Saddlebrook, but on a plane stuck somewhere due to bad weather conditions. Oh..k..Well. Looks like I'm not getting it today then. What really pisses me off is that UPS flat out lies in their tracking information. Why bother having tracking information at all if it's not even correct? Fuck you UPS, fuck you. Anybody else have problems with shipping due to UPS (or similar company) being incompetent?

| | | Posted by Nvr2loud how did they lose that??? WTF
| Exactly my point. It ended up costing me (well the company) a few thousand after all was said and done, and a customer who didn't come back to us for almost a year. And the funny shit, they tried to charge me for the one that arrived on time since "it was there when we said it would be, so thats why we ask payment for it". Yeah, I got to yell at alot of people. The only saving grace in that entire situation. Didn't pay a dime. In the end, when we finally got the customer back, we ended up just giving him the braces. Original price was going to be $1350 with about $300 of that being profit. We ended up giving it to him after a year for free, after we wrote it off as a loss. Final price -$1050. Nice huh. Plus we lost the sale of release, lumber, stakes, rebar, mesh, etc, etc. About $5000 worth of material witha 30% profit margin on most of it.

| | | Well those stories trump my truck mattress problem considerably. I mean I did end up having to sleep on lumpy blanket in the back of my truck instead. The package should arrive today, and now I see what happened to create this problem. UPS shipped my package to NJ.. then back halfway across the country to IL before shipping it to another NJ location. So the tracking info shows: :5/23: - leaves seller in Aliso Veijo, CA :5/25: arrives in Saddlebrook, NJ (15 minutes from me), :5/26: arrives in... Bedford Park, IL? :5/27: delayed due to adverse weather conditions, - arrives in Secaucus, NJ too late for delivery or pickup (I called to check) 5/31 - out for delivery. Guess I can't complain too much. Funny how inefficient UPS is though. I wonder how many packages get shipped 1,000 miles out of the way before being delivered.
