Almost died at a car show this weekend

So we were wrapping up the day and getting our trophies. My buddy had parked his car a few feet away from the stage and we were all standing in front of it. I heard a car accelerating quickly and looked back to see a drag car in full reverse, smash into my friends car and moving it over about 2-3 feet. If the car hadnt been parked there most of us and several others would have been severely hurt or killed. Heres some photos of the aftermath

in good news our team won 6/10 trophies for our class!

Yeah it was pretty scary especially watching it happen.
Im pretty sure its common track policy to push drag cars that arent on the track but I could be wrong.

Worst part is alot of people are trying to turn it against us because as soon as it happened we started yelling at people to get back and give the driver of the drag car and my buddy space, apparently we over reacted and acted like "douchebags". My favorite was a comment from a worker there " Why are you guys mad the guy has enough money to buy all your cars and more".

We werent upset at the loss of the car, more at the carelessness that could have taken many lives.

Yeah, my Bug got smashed into by an old lady a couple years ago, and while it was clearly her fault, people started yelling at me because I was being "mouthy". I was being mouthy because the stupid old hag smashed into my car, and then yelled at me for not honking loud enough.

I didn't even know dragsters HAD reverse...

I'm pretty sure that is the Sportsman class? No blower, and I think small block powered? Those do have reverse.

id be betting its a write off, mk4s get the write off status so easily.
anything except beating the guy is handling it right in my books. Id be furious. (ide had 3 hit and runs on my mk4, the last one required a new hood, grill, and fender. luckily it missed the e-codes)

if someone made such a careless error at a track event, and then tried to flip onto ME for being a 'douchebag', someone would be losing some teeth for sure.

nohe had to leave in an ambulance, apparently he had a heart attack but usually when you have a heart attack and sit in a car for 45 mins you die, you dont get up and walk to the ambulance.

If you guys could read french Id show you the absurd comments these people are saying, one person went as to far as to say we shoulda been hit by the car.

it's not a question of what the car is worth, it's a question that the car belonged to someone and got fucked up by someone else...

I can read french...especially quebec slang!

A few years back at the Olympus Rally, there was an incident during Parc Expose where one driver put his rig into reverse while revving it and it plowed into another car across the road that was up on stands while someone was working on the oil pan under it. He got pinned in and the E-Crew got the car up and sent the mechanic away via ambulance.
