So why does he need another company...?
Unless it's getting publisher backing. In that case, well, big mistake on the part of potential publishers.

I hear ya. Would love a proper sequel - one of the most impactful games of my life (and believe me I've played many, many games during my life). I have the original discs for the commodore 64 but sadly have lost the log/journal book.

Personally I thought fallout #1 was excellent and a worthy successor to Wasteland - it captured the atmosphere of post holocaust really well. But we all know Fallout is not a sequel to Wasteland.

I have been on a couple of message boards, which started out as listservs, for over 15 years discussing a sequel for Wasteland. Fallout 1 & 2 were piss-poor successors, and Brian Fargo has been taunting us for years, occasionally popping into the boards to talk about it. I believe that he re-acquired the IP license a few years ago, but I haven't heard anything in a while. Of course, it would be rather difficult to successfully create a sequel after 23 years with today's expectation of what a game has to be.

I still play it from time to time.

Dungeon Keeper was one of the most original games I've played on the PC. DK 2 was a fantastic followup. DK3 was proposed many years ago but never eventuated. It baffles me why a developer hasn't picked up on this.

If all goes according to schedule, we'll be playing the sequel to this one in 2024.

That little news spot was rather abrasive. He really puts down Schafer and the fans of Psychonauts.

Honestly, though, I really don't see why EA isn't jumping on it. Psychonauts 2 is sure to do better than Brutal Legend did.

Psychonauts for x-box definitely deserved a sequel as did Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath. R.I.P. Oddworld Inhabitants.

A lot of destructoid articles are like that. But that wasn't the point I was trying to make by posting it, lol.

I hope someone picks up on the idea, though...

How about Jet Set Radio Future? Rollerblading has never looked so cool. http://img.listal....o-future-cover.jpg

I agree, I enjoyed the first JSR and bought that day 1...

a 3rd in the series would be sweet.

With the mention of XIII and JSR, I agree that the cell shaded style should make a return.

I think rockstar should make another "the warriors" game but with the type of engine and city design as GTA IV... that would be awesome.

Is it bad that I liked the Warriors game more than I liked the movie?

Either way, I liked the engine that the Warriors worked with. Hell, there's probably a Warriors mod that at least uses the GTAIII engine.

it's not bad at all... I find that rockstar took a movie that was filmed gritty and made an even grittier game out of it. I think I am more impressed with the outcome of that game then any other fan favourite, any other movie adaptation, or what have you. They expanded on the storyline, they included lots of extra gameplay, they brought many of the actors in to do voicing (excluding cyrus)

What I meant by city mechanics etc is... more open world, a full city. I think it would be cool if you had to manage and run a gang, or even have an online gang... maybe even start your own outfit. you would have to find a base and maintain it. You could ally with other local gangs and defend your turf... etc.

Now we're talking! Raid other gang hideouts, start a cartel, control the streets, hold the real power in the city. Wait, it sounds like this game has been made already...

Jade Empire really deserved a sequel. Someone should buy the rights off of Bioware and just get that shit done.
