Members of "hacktivist" group Anonymous have been arrested in Spain for their suspected involvement in both the PlayStation Network breach and attacks on Spain's Central Electoral Board.
The identity of the suspects have not been released, according to a report on The Register (via Joystiq).
One arrest was made in Barcelona, one in Alicante and one in Almeria. The three people taken into custody are alleged to have the ability to direct Anonymous operations. Indeed, Spanish police believe the detainees constitute "a key cell" of the group.
According to the report, a server hosted in the Spanish city of Gijon was seized in the process.
Anonymous have sent out mixed message about their involvment in the hacks. While they have previously denied being behind the breach that lead to PSN credit card security being compromised in April, they also "declared war" on Sony after the company targetted George "Geohot" Hotz for jailbreaking the PlayStation 3.
