Two years ago, I started exploring with a boy I met in my photoshop class (DJ Craig) after a while we started dating. Tonight I was looking through our old exploring pictures, and I thought damn, we're so odd. My friends go on 'dinner and movie' dates while I found someone to enjoy the more exciting yet sketchy part of life.

Here are some of our more memorable dates:

-We took an inflatable boat through the drains. DJ Craig almost froze to death, and I fell down the large water slide.
-We took a blanket and two skateboards to the drains and left them at the entrance for a moment. We then got robbed by two undercover cops in a golf cart. DJ Craig had to chase them down to get our stuff back.
We didn't get to use the blanket.
-Gov Spiders 1. Top of nuclear tower: done ;] *dirty smiley face*
-We went in search of an abandon train bridge, and ended up under an highway bridge. DJ Craig went and sat on a giant rock on the edge of a drop-off and told me to come sit with him. As I was walking over to him, this giant rock fell taking DJ Craig with it. I couldn't see him from where I was standing since he fell off a drop-off so I assumed the rock had crushed him. I got all upset, but then the curly mop of DJ Craig popped up with a "OMG did you see that".
-Gov Spiders 2. Wandering around smooching in formal attire to take anniversary photos.
-I told him not to drive through the Y-12 gates, but he did. Y-12 now has all info on us, and we were in the weekly security newsletter. We were then followed around Oak Ridge by another security car after we wandered on to another plant area. We never got out of the car, but we still managed to make the newsletter.

There have been hundreds more in our year together, but those are the most memorable in my mind.

Dinner & movies? Those people don't know what they are missing. The excitement and adrenalin rush of exploring is great for relationships. My ex husband and I still explored together even after we split up, because it was always the one thing we did where we were the most happy.

Exploring is my thing, don't want to be attached to my SO every second. She has her own hobbies.

Josh and I went on our first date dressed like a pirate and a ninja.
In March.
Downtown in a busy coffee shop.
We then used his grappling hook to climb onto the roof of a few places.

I was the ninja, if anybody was curious.

I will never forget that night or the amount of vomit that was produced. My lord. Never again.

Many years ago, I started watch and appreciate the work of urbex photographer online. We corresponded a bit. And we still do.

Months later, while exploring at the local asylum grounds, I came across a cute girl photographing inside, and we flirted like craaaazy before realizing that we already knew each other. Kind of a "You've Got Mail" moment? Anyway, we were close for nearly three years.

Exploring dates are great for getting to know a real person—their strengths and weaknesses.

The first time I met bandi I was promised beer and exploring/Volkswagen talk and we ended up going to explore a church at 1am in the middle of nowhere after delicious food and coffee...

Then two days later he lured me to his place with the promise of exploring, beer and nachos, and we've been exploring and dating ever since, and I proceeded to never leave his place again until I moved to Toronto for school, but we've been together for a year and a half almost now

I think the first exploring date we did was one of my favourite times ever, there are so many epic moments from our first weekend together!

The Northern Ontario mines trip we did a month after meeting was filled with awesome, too...

There are countless anecdotes of awesome and epic times together...
