And I had a small issue of MY FREAKING CLUTCH FAN FALLING OFF HITTING MY RADIATOR AND TAKING IT OUT!

I had a BMW 325e do that to me right after a 550 km trip. She got me home, I was proud of her.

Finally, someone one who understands

I was down in Parkdale for the annual Mt Hood Rally again, riding with the lovely AMR RAT team's 4x4 Ambulance. When I got back to my car around 7 PM, I start it up and then George, who was one of the E-crew guys, calls me on the radio asking to stop at the gas station so he can follow me to the banquet. So I do that, then get back on the highway. I go only ONE mile when I hear a loud thump, then George goes on the radio and goes "Ryan, you got some really bad white smoke under your jeep! PULL OVER!" I noticed my power steering was out...not a good sign.

So I pull over, and I popped the hood. The clutch fan broke off the studs the from stress of some sort and took the pulley with it, knocking my serpentine belt off. The fan blade then at whatever speed it was going then jammed into my radiator creating a huge hole with very HOT coolant everywhere.

I said I would give it a good cleaning. Paint? Oh god, I can't stand the people who paint the valve cover red in the Jeep world.

Or paint the motor over the grease.....

Yeah, you have that fan at running at engine speed when its engaged and when it falls off, its got the right speed to chop anything!

I think I had one stud actually loose enough to create a wobble on the clutch fan causing stress on the studs leading to my epic failure.

I picked up a new radiator on the way home from work along with new radiator mounting grommets as mine were chewed up badly along with new studs and bolts.

oh i'm not just amused, i'm entertained as well.
Jeez, Skelly, losing a radiator is not the end of the known universe. With your jeep, you could've cobbled in another radiator out of just about anything.

Unfortuantely, I was near no other vehicles...and yes, I looked at the field across the highway
