Anybody have interest in getting stuff laser cut? I now have a small 12x16 laser in my garage. More info available on Facebook: White Light Laser. Will be getting a website and domain name registered soon.

what would you be able to cut, and what would be the costs be? (material, cost per hour, overhead, etc.)

(I'd be most interested if you were able to do 1/4" sheet steel, because then I could consult some older designs I had for custom tools and such for UE purposes)

i am interested, but don't currently have anything that really needs to be cut. but it'd be nice to know I have somewhere that I could turn to for small orders.

You are looking for someone with a waterjet, cnc plasma or oxy/acetylene setup--a laser can do 1/4 inch birch plywood, but with multiple passes and lots of time...

Well, what can you cut?

1/8" steel plate?

1/8" aluminum plate?

Something else?

Can you do laser engraving on powdercoated steel or anodized aluminum? Graphics or just text?

What other kind of metal working equipment do you have? Hopefully a brake to bend sheet stock?

How are you going to do pricing?

Depending on what your capability and capacity is, we may have to talk.

Just a small laser I am starting with. 9"x14", 40 watt. Cuts 1/4" woods, plastics, etc. Will etch on glass, some stone, glass and anodized aluminum. Sorry, no steel. That takes a far more powerful, and far more expensive laser. Nothing with chlorine in it (pvc).

Favorite material so far, 1/8" MDF... Cuts in one pass.

I will be pricing similar to places like ponoko.com, but will have a lower rate. Time + materials + shipping. And my turnaround time should be faster than ponoko unless I get really flooded. Just getting started up.
