I got to check out a chemical plant in Edmonton with some friends. There's plenty of broken glass, trash, and paper everywhere. Seems like they have a new security guy who's boarding everything up and checking for people who are hanging around the area. Sick place though.

Adding onto Jzae's post since we went together. Here are some more pictures from the administrative building. I may or may not have been the one to get seen first by security.

The administration building was by far the most interesting building we were able to get into. A couple buildings didn't have a way in without breaking something, and pretty much everything else is a pile of rubble. As Jzae said the new security guy was telling us as he escorted us out how he's been boarding stuff up. It's nicer wood and actually bolted in instead of the cheap plywood you usually see with a couple nails in it. I'm sure it won't take long before some kids come rip them off but we'll see.

These 3 pictures are from the second floor of the admin building. Plenty of cool stuff still up there, plus it was kinda fun to move the filing cabinets around on their rails. Dolly isn't very popular here for some reason. Allegedly it doesn't cost much for a good time with her, so maybe she's just not a nice person.

DOGMAN had a good thread with pictures of this place about a year ago. In that time looks like some people had fun tossing stuff down the stairs to the basement. We weren't super eager to go for a bath either so the basement stayed unexplored.

The smoke definitely made for some cool pictures. I wish I took more honestly, but now I know for next time.

Luckily security only got us as we were finishing up at the last building we wanted to see, so overall it was a very successful trip. This was actually our first run in with authority since we started exploring, and it went very well. The guy led us out and made sure we took off and didn't make too much fuss about it thankfully. We asked him if the whole plot was being demolished and he said no, but based on some of the pictures that have been put up recently of the plant I don't think that's entirely true. I took a few pictures of the area including some of the rubble piles, they might be useful to see if any other buildings have come down since the last time some of you guys have visited.

I've got some other pictures from places we've explored in the past, and we've got some locations we're gonna check out soon here. I'm looking forward to having more stuff to post. You guys seem pretty tight around here.

The ole girl still provides even after 15 years. You couldn't even explore the whole area in a night, would take a few expeditions.

Good to see people getting out and doing the thing! That location's been very generous to us in the past. Can't believe those cooling towers are still standing though! Must be feeling extra rickety these days.

That stairwell leans like it drinks robitussin.

I know this isn't Facebook, but the place is abandoned and I swear I didn't make her sit there.

Actually the stairs we went up weren't too bad. The roof looks like it's about one or two good storms away from peeling itself off. We walked along where the nails were and didn't have any issues, but there were some places that look like they've been patched. Not exactly the sturdiest of structures that's for sure!

Finally got around to exploring this house we scouted out almost 2 months ago. From what our friend was telling us there was a murder in the house which led to it being abandoned. Given the amount of graffiti and the fact that it looked a lot like one of those "Rage Rooms" in there I'd assume some of you guys have heard of the place.

Here's the deal though. I did some research on the location at the most I found was that about 2 years ago, EPS was searching the area for any clues tied to a missing person. In January of last year, EPS said that remains they had found matched the missing person, and being a suspicious death they pointed towards it being drug related. Google maps shows from its satellite pictures that there were a lot of other buildings on the property, but we didn't see any of them. Street view is copyrighted in 2012 and that's the only picture they took. At that point it was still being lived in. So at some point between 2012 and now, the house was abandoned. The route that EPS believes the missing person took includes the intersection directly next to the house. This house is the closest one to that intersection. Remains weren't found until later in the fall, but it can be assumed they weren't found in the area of the house since it was searched. It could be possible that the missing person was murdered at this location, the body was moved and the information made its way through the grapevine. It's easy to draw a conclusion first and find evidence afterwards though, which is pretty much the case here, so it (most likely) isn't related. Fun to speculate though. Either way, here are some pictures I took.

Hallway in tough shape, holes in the walls everywhere, kitchen looked like a bomb went off.

Living room area had some cool looking shots.

Bedrooms had some graffiti in them and not much else.

The second one had a lot more graffiti in it than the first one. Notably "Mommy's room" above the closet. The only pictures I got of that have some of my friends in them so you'll have to take my word for it. I'll see if any of them have more pictures they can put up. Thought it was funny in a room with a pentagram, "save us" and "help" on the wall.

The basement didn't show any signs of flooding, but it was cold and damp.

Overall it was fun. Definitely not the 4 hour expedition like the chemical plant, but that's an outlier. It would have been nice if the house wasn't absolutely trashed, but it did add some character given the rumours around it I suppose. If any of you guys have any more info about the history of the place or the rumours I'd love to hear it.

We're in a drought. Water levels in all the creeks are extremely low, which made this possible.

This too.

And one more, because it's so much damn fun to be back underground for a even few minutes.

Beautiful shots and tunnel. Guessing it's quite old? You don't see much arched concrete anymore, it's all boxes or precast rounds.

Cool stuff. Really like that old railway tunnel. Any more shots from the bridge catwalk? Not for those afraid of heights, I'd guess.

Really, really miss them big drains. Took advantage when I could.

Some of you might recognize these. Obviously not Vancouver Island. I had to figure out how to operate a DSLR again, underground, in the dark. So out of practice, but Good Times anyway.

Nothing looking down, was pretty hesitant to even pull the camera out lol. It's the bridge near the Mount Baldy ski hill @ 49°02'56.5"N 119°07'03.7"W. Seriously rickety, entire catwalk shakes when logging trucks roll over.

There’s one that is largely decommissioned not too far away and I keep meaning to go check it out.

Ive jumped off that bridge a dozen times. Its actually in pretty decent shape. I am more worried when driving across the Patullo bridge. All bridge vibrate / shake when vehicle drive over them. Lions gate and portmann bridge move a lot more then you would think.
