Greetings! I guess since I'm posting in here it's quite obvious that I'm new. Thought I'd still make a post stating that fact.. I'm JC, I live in NE Florida but travel all over the place. Just kinda getting started in the whole sport of UE. I've always be curious about abandoned buildings/areas for a long time. It wasn't until recently I discovered there's actually a name to it. I guess that's about it. So again, hello...

Hi Everyone,
Obviously I am new to this site, I am located about an hour outside of Toronto. I have always had a fascination with abandoned buildings but was always too nervous to do anything about it. About two years ago a friend ask me to meet him at an abandoned hotel at first I was hesitant but after psyching myself up I became determined to do this. Once inside I absolutely fell in love with the place and returned to explore on a few more occasions. Unfortunately that building is no longer accessible and that friend is no longer around, so I am hoping to meet some new people on here to continue doing explorations with.

Hello,
I just found this forum recently. I am a 50 year old female and have been exploring abandoned places all my life. I am fascinated with history and stories of long ago and most specifically I am curious. Sometimes I find It heartbreaking to see things slip into oblivion.
I travel all over the country and find these places all the time. I want to learn their stories. Now that I am here I will be able to share these plus see all of the other member's wonderful work. That being said, I do not think I can fit myself to one area of the country as I am home the last amount of time. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello UER! I've always stumbled upon this site and just now decided to make an account. I got interested in Urban Exploration because since i was little i was always infatuated with graffiti and how the graffiti artists got up there. I hope to have a great membership here! bye

Most likely no one reads these, so I'll be brief. I'm a long time muller (one who mulls - bugger the spellcheck) of the abandoned and the lost - intimations of mortality that are growing with age. The thread of melancholy to this from my childhood is a stream, but the fascination of exploring is still foremost.

Any old site with water -- pools, fountains, ornamental ponds, lakes -- is especially cool. I always want to know what, why, when, who is left... Knowing doesn't solve the core of mysteries.

You see a vacant, possibly abandoned office building. You look through windows, find an opened door, the garbage pickup with remnants of packing up. An office chair -- blue canvas seat, the kind you've sat in innumerable typing days. A child's sleeping bag with pink and purple Disney princesses next to a pillow of stuffed white dog and a picture book; the single-mom secretary used to bring her child to work when her own mom was sick? The accountant traveled over several towns, maybe states, and sometimes brought her child? The owner's messy divorce?

You'll never know. All you know is that these things were in this office, that someone almost took them out when the office closed, but at the last minute left them.

Hi, I'm in the East Tennessee area. Obviously new to UER but more than ready to get started! Most of the interesting stuff in my area is no longer standing or is being refurbished... Would love some guidance. Thanks, MG Girl

Hey! I'm a SoCal graduate student, very interested in urban exploring but can't find many cool places to visit. I'm hoping to find more information on this site and maybe make some friends.

Hello UER. I'm a French guy who recently moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. I got interested in UE a few months ago when I started exploring the underground catacombs in Paris, bunkers and a few abandoned railways around there. That really hooked me up, and I am now starting to explore more underground places around SF. I know there are some interesting ones, I hope to find some by myself pretty soon. I will post some pictures on the forum of course

Hi all! I'm a long-timer explorer, first-time user. I'm a fresh transplant to Toronto, coming in from four years living around. Roofs and construction sites hold a special place in my heart - my favourite playground.

Anyone in or around Toronto, let's make a date & time to meet & greet!

Hi I'm Nick! Currently in Pittsburgh, originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, and moving to Lake Tahoe. Never done any bit of urban exploration, except I drove to Centralia, PA, yesterday, which was cool. Not exactly trailblazing but it got me excited for this kind of thing.

Fun-loving, Somewhat goofy Gurl Texan, sends out warm and sincere greeting to all.
I have secretly admired many on this site for years. I became reluctant to join, not knowing if i could ever fit in, or compare to all the Awesome explorers and photographers in your community. Well, finally decided to give it a try. Hope you will enjoy my presence here. My name is Tamara. Call me Tam. or call me Crazy, just call me something, lol.

Exploring IS my drug of choice. Its my painkiller, Its my tonic for what ails me.
Abandoned places Mesmerize me. They fill me with wonder and excitement.
Some places can fill my curiosity in just one visit, whereas, others take hold of me and the journey never ends.
There are places i MUST revisit time and again to note the decay, feel the changes, live past lives, or catch a glimpse of something i previously missed. I am sure its a feeling shared by others here~ many times over. Thanks for your kind attention. I will be look forward to spending more time with all of you and sharing my photos with everyone.

Hi everybody! I'm Andi, I'm super into photography, but I am still learning. I am relatively new to this site, love it already! I am a drain junkie for sure! I'd never pass up a drain exploration. I love anything abandoned really. I love the stories behind an old abandoned house, or farm. I love imagining what business was like when I'm wandering through an old mill or other business. so, yeah...

Well, hello.

I have been exploring a fait bit in my younger years, and had it put at rest for various reasons. I knew little of the UE community, and was centered mainly in the one I descended in the parisian catacombs with.
I still got in every area of any building I would work in, especially with the help of technicians, to look at cool machinery and such, but no active research.

Looking at DEFCON talks, I heard about Ninjalicious, and swiftly got its book, as well as registered myself to this board. The time before I could post allowed to finish the book while lurking a bit.

Another reason which sparked my enthusiasm is that I may get access to some of the old buildings of a still working asylum, in one of which -so the local legends say- might lead to tunnels used during WWII.

I am a total newbie as far as abandoned locations, and would not want to put others at risk. I might bother with some questions about tunneling and such, but will do my best to contribute.
