| | | Posted by jeepdave The all new Dodge Why-cant-we-make-a-fucking-automatic-trans-that-last-more-than-60,000-miles Dart.
| QFT Dodge auto trannies are made of bubble gum wrappers, tin foil, and wishes. 90 Voyager -- Trans suddenly stuck in neutral 100 miles from home at about 76k. Rebuilt two more times, once at 88k and again at 102k. When the trans went at 130k, that was that. 95 Neon -- Trans began hard-shifting into reverse when cold at 65k. (you'd put it in reverse, but the car wouldn't go anywhere) Trans began hard-shifting into reverse no matter what temp at 89k. Trans hesitated into 1stand 2nd when cold at 70k. Trans hesitated 1st, 2nd, and 3rd when cold at 93k. Trans hesitated at 1st and 2nd no matter what temp at 110k. Gave up on car completely at 148k. 00 Dodge Ram -- Trans started slipping at ~70k. Adjusted bands. Problem fixed for a bit. Had to do full rebuild at 108k. Truck still runs to this day at 175k, but trans slips BADLY when cold. Not that they did much better on the manuals. Apparently the 03-05 Neons had clutch issues out of the factory. Mine completely disintegrated at 32k for no reason whatsover. Dealershit told me "factory flaw, lol oops". Thankfully they fixed it and it never had issues again (or at least to 71k, when I had to sell it due to losing my job).
| dsankt: In fact, the day I die yall are welcome to form an orderly queue and run a train on my eye sockets. I'll be dead and frankly, will not give a f*ck. budda: That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Fuck me sideways this is insane. ~~~~~~ Because it's Cincinnati |

| | | The sad thing is, if I had to buy a domestic, it'd still be a Dodge... I've had awful luck from GM (and I worked for them, and saw firsthand how terribly built 90% of them are), and, okay, so I've only had one Ford product out of the 120 cars I've owned, and it was just a '90 Tempo that I derbied... but I've worked on enough to know I never want to have one. Except for a dark green '68 Mustang GT 390 fastback with a 4 speed, horse badge delete, Cragar Torq-Thrust rims painted black.

Well, they seem to beat up Chevys too
| no. i don't see logic here. TH125= bulletproof even when pisspounded 3T40E (TH125E)= bulletproof even when pisspounded 4T40E= motherfucking bulletproof even when pisspounded 4T60E= good for 200,000 with minimal service 4T65E= okay, they had some issues around 150k, but were easily rebuilt 700R4- junk stock. too many sensors too much slip for fuel economy, overbuilt and underwhelming. the worst ones were in the small displacement Camaros, S10's and S10 Blazer variants with the 2.8L's. they were literally shifting themselves to death. 4L60E= tough transmission, but with enough miles and no service, iffy track record 4L65E= hit or miss unfortunately. 4L80E= rugged transmission and thats about the limit of my GM transmission knowledge. after my experience, i would never own a dodge/chryler built after 1993
