Wasn’t sure how this would fly, so I did some market research with another board member & they said go for it.
So, here’s the thought:

Post up any pics of your off-road vehicle in a quasi-urban or otherwise unorthodox setting.
Brief description or funny stories are encouraged.

Rules: No off-road parks, farmers fields (unless you’re buried & have a funny story along with it), or anywhere else you would expect to see a 4x4.

I’ll start things off with two examples:

1 – Mine at a 50+ senior community. Should have seen the stares I was getting by the Sunday walkers!

2 – Wife’s at another community development. Only nice thing about the tanking housing market are all the great photo ops at stagnant construction sites.

I hate snow! Especially when it kyboshed some of our explores for the day. So, we made a side trip to the PA turnpike tunnels when the others failed.

…and to compliment your extraction – below we’re back at OBX yanking out a Pathfinder that got off the path.

Now that’s my kinda weather!

yeah that looks like much better weather.
Im thinking of building another 4x4, I loved the versatility of it. But hated the 350km to a tank of gas. But this I'll have a daily driver as well.
we have a 42 willys at my cottage that wont start now, its pretty rotten and I think im going to see if its savable.

This is a combination of urban exploration and urban 4xExplore.
Our NE US coal country explorers will know where this is…

Here in CO the bulk of our exploring is mining sights in the mountains. A 4x4 is a must. Im restoring a 53 Dodge M37 power wagon right now for that very purpose, got tired of fixing the old rig. 84 4 runner i had to axle swap.

Power wagon that is in a million pieces right now:

and a couple getting to the locations:

It was a good truck but finally got tired of fixing it. I brought it back from the dead, new engine, axle swap, wire harness, transmission, brakes, gears, lockers, axle shafts and on and on. Did all the custom tube work myself too. Just was beyond what I was willing to put into it anymore. Power wagon should be twice as capable with the stock 5.83 gearing/granny 4 speed. Will have the flat head in it still but its machined and ready to go back together brand new. Will make a great expedition truck for the mountains.

Man I never had an issue with mine with the exception of having to deal with the alternator bearing being very loud due to that photo above.
I had over 450,000 on it when I sold it, still ran amazing.

BTW, the photo above is a public walking trail we were crossing to the trail so it still abides by the rules of the thread.

also this is an unfortunate situation that happened to my old car. Down at the beach someone went along and undid a lot of the nuts on the cars parked there.

Kudos! That’s what I’m talkin’ about!

Hope they catch the jerk with the lug wrench! If they do, a fitting punishment would be to configure his phalanges such that he can only count to 9 with both hands.
