A dear friend of mine has a 90 something Nissan Sentra he's put an engine in and some other parts totaling upwards of 3000 dollars into in the last year and a half.

He lost the ECM the other night after having put new brakes on the car, like less than 12 hours after.

The car isn't worth much, granted, but it was his son's car and the car he drives every day back and forth to work, pretty much a beater, but it has some sentimental value which is why he's trying to fix it.

He's been damn near everywhere to try to get one and had no luck, the dealer can get one, but for like $800. I've tried all the places I know and no luck.

I know they're kind of specialized, you need to match up numbers on the card to it, along with the VIN.

Does anyone have any other ideas of where we could try to look to find one or any place that might sell the damn thing? We've tried nearly every junkyard and salvage yard between here, Montreal and Albany. I got stuck for a double shift last night and spent a good part of my night on the phone trying to help him look for one of these things, I figured I'd try here too, who better to ask than a bunch of car guys? Any help would be appreciated.

what year sentra is it exactly? they didnt start pairing the ecu with the vin until 2000-2002 or so. if it's a 90s, then unplug ecu, plug in another. no biggie.

I will ask, I believe it's like a late 90's, early 2000's. I'll talk to him Wednesday and find out for sure.

As for the website, I'll give that a shot too.

Thanks fellas.
