yup to the OP. Christianity takes many of it's great stories from other religions that predate it.

Like the story of the flood to purify the earth and Noah with his ark to preserve the creatures of the land. That is a huge part of Zoroastrianism, whose earliest writing predate the bible's earliest by thousands of years. The story of Jesus is a well told story by many religions. Of course when i was put into a christian school when I was young and asked questions about these things, I was labeled a trouble maker. I legitimately wanted to have an explanation. One teacher tried to argue to me that it was absolute proof that it happened because so many people all around the world knew roughly the same story, so it must have happened. But then again, we all know the story of Jack and the beanstalk too, but that doesnt mean i believe in a giant creature that lives in a house in the clouds, and forces bloody vengeance upon any who oppose him. (dammit. there it is again.)
