When I worked for GM, we had a few LaCrosses in the shop being PDId at the same time. One of the jerk off sales people walked into the shop and said "we're like lacrosse capitol of canada" and I just laughed and agreed with him.

back before the Cobalt had been unveiled, there was poll that GM posted on FWD enthusiast sites (yes, some people were enthusiastic about their GM so stifle!) and one of the names that they were considering was "Corsair". Now, me personally, thought that Corsair was a name that had balls! And, if I remember right as it has been about 8 years, Corsair was leading in the poll/survey.

actually, when I hear Corsair I always thought of the Vought F4U Corsair fighter from World War II or the LTV A-7 Corsair II attack plane of the 60's, 70's and early 80's.

It's good to see that not all of MSN Auto's car lists are riddled with ignorant and inaccurate entries. But they still force you to click through dozens of pages in what could have been put on 1 or 2. Also, that GM stopped caring about Quebec French slang with the new LaCrosse is funny. Here's a page for it in French.

The use and recycling of car names is weird. Edsel had a model called the Citation. I guess GM was inspired by how well it did to beg permission to use the same name? I think there was an Edsel Pathfinder as well, or it was some other older domestic car.

There are also Corsair motorhomes. Corvette was a ship. Corsair was probably too close in name and dated to the Corvair, which as we know was falsely charged by Ralph for being 'Unsafe at any Speed'
