Here's the other side of the coin. Its Jan 12th and it's hardly rained/snowed here in California. Thousands of resort employees, Caltrans snow-plow workers, chain installation monkeys and retail folks depend on this winter blanket to make ends meet. The least of it is the fact I can't get a couple decent turns in some powder with my board. No, I do not want to ride that man-made shit that smells like diesel fuel and makes my face break-out. I now officially consider Northern California a desert region. Fucking weather is pissing me off.

We've had barely 5" all winter. Normally by now it's bunghole deep to a giraffe.

Heard on the news it was due to some positive front surrounding the North Pole that's not letting the colder weather touch those of us east of the Rockies. And that last year's unbearable amount of snow was due to a negative front. Supposedly it's going to be temperate and without snow until at least March. I'm not the least bit upset about that.

We got a nice "storm" on Friday in the greater Toronto area. Maybe a couple inches. By Friday evening roads were clear and dry and people were driving like maniacs like normal.

it snowed here... and now it's a whopping -11F
i hate winter.

Which meant it took me an hour and twenty minutes to drive the 17km to work because everyone had to drive 5kmh and do retarded things.

I lived in Haliburton for a winter, and in Peterborough for the majority of my life. Toronto folks in winter are a joke. I remember getting 3 FEET of snow overnight in Haliburton and things went on as usual. Schools were closed but that was about it. In Peterborough it wasn't unheard of to not be able to see into traffic because the snow banks were too high when you wanted to turn.

Toronto people panic and fail at driving and drive obnoxiously slow with a sprinkle of snow. Or if there is snow AT THE SIDE of the 401 and it's dry they're driving 70....gotta watch out for that snow that attacks from the sides??!

And what is with the increase of people just dead stopping in the middle of intersections in this city lately?!

Toronto infuriates me. I am so glad this is more than likely my last year here.

I miss snow. It makes me money. MOAR SNOE.

We have lots of snow. I have run out of room to plow it off my driveway.
