I recently got into urban exploration and I've found a few sites, but due to it being winter and cold I've been a bit hesitant about going into any of them. I was curious if weather conditions and temperature affect exploring drastically? Is it safe to go exploring with a lot of snow around and with layers of clothes on? If so, what equipment would be necessary? Are there any extra equipment I should bring if it's cold?

I don't think it should sway you away from exploring. It's pretty cold where I am in Chicago and I still get out about once a week. The one thing of note is that snow is a snitch! Footprints in snow can totally give you away.

Dress appropriately for the weather and remember what Pearson said and you'll be fine. Winter is actually better for some types of urbex such as storm drains- when it's cold enough to snow instead of rain, floods risk and water levels alike tend to be lower. But by that same token, steam tunnel systems will actually be more dangerous because steam for heating is most needed in the winter, so the tunnels will be hot with higher pressure steam.
But for buildings, aside from footprints it doesn't really matter.

Depending on what kind of exploring you do, winter minus snow, is sometimes better if you dress for it. Less people will be out so chances of being seen are less, whether it’s a nosy neighbor or security doing rounds somewhere. Winter time during Covid was probably the best time tbh. Especially if something required predawning.
As well as underground stuff since it’s normally always 55° or if heated feels nice. The ground is always a lot safer since it’s frozen.

Winter is one of the best seasons for exploring. There's likely to be fewer people around. Also, if there's snow on the ground you can figure out if anyone has been there recently (though others can do the same to you). Plus you don't have to worry as much about weeds and insects.

Personally, I’ve gone urbex-ing when there’s a foot of snow on the ground, and when it’s 90 degrees fahrenheit, so I don’t think it matters too much and more on your comfort level

If you are exploring drains in the winter, then it should be nicer underground like 50s/60s to be exact. If you are exploring drains in the summer, then just check the weather to make sure it's not going to rain. As of this year, winter is my favorite season to explore drains because I love being out in the cold and blowing snow.
