First off, welcome to the UER forums!

If you would like to introduce yourself to the forums before you begin posting, please feel free to do so in this thread. This is not required, of course, because the best way to introduce yourself is always by making some contributions to the forums. If you would like to introduce yourself to a specific region, you may do so, but any introductions posted in other sections may be moved here if it is deemed more appropriate in this thread.

Please take the time to read the FAQ and the forum rules and it is highly suggested that you read some of the threads to familiarize yourself with how things work around here. There is also a Search feature that can be utilized to eliminate posting duplicate threads and inquiries.

If you have questions or problems, please feel free to use the Contact a Moderator board.

Veteran Members: Please reply to introductions only if you have something more to contribute other than "Welcome to the forums!"

Hi everyone! I'm Amanda. I live in Denver currently but I love traveling everywhere. I like food, a lot, with Thai food being my favorite, and I like to listen to punk rock! Nice to meet everyone I've met so far in the IM channel! Hope to meet more people

Aside from promises and a few friends I've made,
I don't think I'll stay here long.
With ease I leave, before my roots have grown.

Hello

My name is Amanda and I have had a genuine interest in becoming part of the UE community for some time now....unfortunately work, school, life has gotten in the way but I am more motivated than ever now and would love to make some good contacts in the UE community...particulary with those involved in the Detroit UE scene who want to give a genuinely interested newby some guidance...

I have been made aware of, respect, and comprehend the general UE code of conduct and am ready to explore while playing by the rules whenever possible...

A little background, I am a 32 year old woman, living in Ferndale, I am about to graduate with a Bachelors of Science from the College of Ed. @ Wayne State Univ w/ a major in Social Studies and a minor in History...I am particularly interested in Detroit history and am hoping to make a contact with someone who legitimately wants to show somoene w/ genuinely educational UE intentions the ropes...

If thats you, let me know!

Hello - I'm Elizabeth, in North Carolina, US. Lifelong metalhead and music lover. New to this activity and interested in learning more from everyone. I've been poking around in old buildings for my entire life (Dad loved exploring, too) and had no idea that there were groups dedicated to it. For other folks in the Mid-Atlantic area, this could be important info about me: I'm not into the idea of dangerous or illegal exploring - call me boring, LOL - but genuinely interesting hikes, I'll always be down for.

Take care, all.

Hi, I'm a girl, 22, in NYC. I am fascinated by the subway lines - I've read mole people and spend my subway time staring out the window. I'm keeping notes on where the abandoned stations, emergency exits, etc. are. I first heard about mole people in high school (not in NYC) and got my first glimpse of the lovely underground peering through a grate in Riverside Park on the Upper West Side. I want to go into the subways and explore. I have several areas I'd want to try out but I don't want to go alone. If anyone reads this and wants to join me or if you are experienced and want to adopt me, please let me know!

I know no one ever really reads this shit, but here goes...

New to UE, but not to exploring. Never knew this "society" existed until recently.

I'm located in SoCal, and have been my entire life (boring here). Until recent, I devoted 13 years to volunteer work, about 1000 hours a year. I was heavily involved with Search And Rescue. Through that, I was a Specialist Reserve Officer with LAPD. I've received training through LAFD, most importantly (to me) was Rope Rescue.

I have legally explored the Red Line (subway) from North Hollywood to Hollywood, on foot. I have walked the train tunnel from Chatsworth to Simi Valley. It was great to have legal access to a lot of places.

Most of my recent explorations are mines and ghost towns (abandoned towns). Favorite area is Panamint Valley and Death Valley.

I have renewed interests in a few objectives of UE here in the SFV. I'd love to explore with anybody else in SoCal.

If you wanna explore my local area, PM me

Welcome L4N, see people read this crap lol. Jump yourself on over to the Pacific SouthWest boards and you will find there are a few over there in your area, and many that are really into the desert stuff.

Look forward to seeing you over there.

Alrighty, well I'm new to the site, my account's been sitting here for about six months due to loss of internet, but now I'm back and I have no idea what the hell I'm doing.

Anyway, I'm definitely not new to exploration. My friends and I have been to about every abandoned building/storm drain in my local area. I joined the website to hear the stories of other explorers, and hopefully find some more people with the same hobby in my general area. (I'm feeling kind of alone in this. Seems like I'm the only SoCal resident who would rather explore than party!)

Sup every body?? I am proud to be a new member of UER. The posts I would do are mostly along the lines of "dead malls" or interesting areas around where I live. So if I am allowed to, I might start puting posts up over the next couple of months.

Heya, I'm Anthony. New to UER, but an old friend with UE.

Did quite a bit with the military actually. I explored the Victory Over America Palace that we bombed the hell out of back in 03, the old Baath Party HQ buildings, the dungeons below Al Faw Palace, the islands at Perfume Palace in Baghdad Iraq...

Originally from western NV, I started UE with the American Flats out in Virginia City.

Explored a lot of the old bunkers, missile silos etc on/around Ft. Huachuca Arizona.

Most recently was my last duty station in Ft. Lewis WA. I did some exploring of the Seattle Underground and some of the industrial park districts in Seattle and Tacoma.

Nowadays, I'm out in Denver Colorado. I wanted to post a while back, but there's a three day restriction for newbies to post. If there's any more ventures out to the Titan silo near here in Denver, I have a car with four seats to spare. Or any other happenings here in Colorado, I'd love to tag a long. I've been here far too long and haven't done an ounce of exploring.

Bing bing Harro Prease, I have recently started exploring all possible nooks and crevices of my wonderful city a couple months ago thanks to some willing and experienced explorers i have the pleasure of knowing. I have been on 10 different outings since then, including 9 different cave/tunnels sets, and 1 abandoned brewery/cave and tunnel system. I truly love doing this and it has sparked something in me that i never knew i had. I wish to continue to see more and more of my lovely state under and above ground, learn the history of said places, and meet people that share a similar sentiment while doing so. Sand, mud, dirt, sewage, water, wood, and steel here i come!!!

Hi! I know Ive been here for months but I have kept pretty quiet. I thought I should introduce myself. I'm Alex, I live in Canada, and I like to explore. I grew up in the boonies, where all of the boonie kids would gather.. bike around, explore the forests, get lost, make forts and traps for other explorers, and the favourite, exploring in the creepy old goat shed. It had all kinds of secret treasures from the past, old pictures, bicycles, big chests, rocking chairs, and lots of animal shit. Over the years we would sometimes run into "scary teenagers" exploring as well. Too bad 20 years later the roof is collapsed. So now I need new places to explore!
Yes I need to explore,

I can post! Huzzah!

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh and relocated to Philly three years ago. This has always been a voyeur hobby for me - I've never been inside any place due to a stupid fear of some terrible, unforeseen consequences, and stuck to scouring the web and the library and only photographing outside. Now that I'm older I'm more outgoing, but have yet to pop that cherry. It also took some time living in Philly to dispel the lies (250 people get shot in the face per day, average, et cetera). I'm also very interested in the historical/deindustrialization/PPL LIVED HERE aspect of abandoned locations, which makes both cities treasure troves. UER is a goldmine for all of this, but it's also made me insanely jealous. Hopefully I will stop living vicariously soon.

Hiya all! My name is Eric and I live in Collingswood, NJ (Which is around Haddonfield/Cherry Hill, in case you didn't know.) I've recently become interested in all of this and have been to a few places, but not very many. I joined to be able to find people who'd like to explore with me! Unfortunately, I don't have my driver's license yet, so I'm a little limited on where I can go alone.

I'm sorta bad at staying active on these sorts of things, but I'm hoping that I'll remember to visit more often to fix that!

Hey all, I'm Chris and I'm new to UE. I've always had a underlying interest in the hobby, but until recently, never really looked into it. I have made friends with an active explorer (you know who you are, and you're super cute ;), and that was the push I needed to start exploring in earnest. I grew up and live in Southern Maine, and have explored many of the old military installments in and around the islands off Portland harbor. Just about every major island in the bay has some sort of military installment on it and since most are only reachable by boat, they remain untagged and unmolested. Being the son of a professional photographer, I've always been taking pictures. I think my love of photography and my love of exploring is going to make for some great material. The coolest (or should I say hottest) place I've explored was Centralia, Pennsylvania, the site of a mine fire that has been burning since 1962. It's not exactly "urban", but what remains of the town is really spectacular, especially the downtown neighborhoods where streets and sidewalks are flanked by hollow foundations with steam rising from them. I can't wait to go on my first real adventure and take start documenting the forgotten places of America.
