Hey everyone. Name's Andrew, and I live in Santa Clarita, CA, about 30 miles north of LA. Hope to be more active around here, and make some friends here as well. If there is anyone who is local to me, PM and we can chat or meet up! Thanks!

What's up? I'm Gabe, but don't think you'll remember that... I'm a student at Rutgers, so I'll be operating within the Middlesex area (if I manage to get my ass up off the computer), but I'll be trying to make it to other areas as well. I've liked urban exploration in the same way I like archeology: excavation and restoration is a pain in the ass, but exploring ruins is really interesting. I've liked doing it it since I was a little kid. I also do it for the photography. I like photography, partly because of me like make good image, and partly because cameras are mechanically fascinating to me. I've been training parkour for about... 5 years now. Nothing impressive, and I haven't been too consistent with training, but if anyone here practices it, I'm certainly down to chat. Other interests include anime and manga... ...and I like long walks on the beach. I've been on a couple of outings. Mostly do stuff solo, usually can't get any friends to come out with me, but it's also nice being alone. Not as safe, but I quite like it. I am looking for someone I can do stuff with. On the reverse side, if anyone is looking for a partner in Jersey and is willing to pick me up (don't have a car), PLEASE hit me up. I like mostly exploring BIG, industrial areas, but I'm thinking about trying out bigger houses if I get the chance. Also, if anyone is willing to share some tips on finding a find? I can't exactly drive around (again, no car) and I'm not sure if New Brunswick even has a library with records. I'mma keep trying, though. Anyways, I'm glad to have found a community. You will come to a place where the streets are not marked. Some windows are lighted. But mostly they're darked. A place you could sprain both your elbow and chin! Do you dare to stay out? Do you dare to go in? How much can you lose? How much can you win?

Hi there, I am new to Urban Exploration and happened to stumble upon this forum by searching for "abandoned buildings". My partner and I ran across an abandoned building and fell in love with the idea of finding other buildings, going in and taking pictures. We had no idea that there is a huge group of people out there who love to do the same thing and that it has a name! I am originally from California but currently live in Germany. My partner is German. We are loving the awesome pictures that are posted on the forum and we're hoping to post some of our own soon.

Salut Urban Cowboys, My name is La Cigale (The Cricket, as in the insect, not the game) and I hail from the city of lights. Born in Melbourne, this city is where I started to explore the hidden world. Hit up the MPS a number of times and fell in love with strange rusting steel objects. Rusting objects gave way to secret rooftops and underground villas. In 2010 I moved to Paris and it was inevitable that sooner or later I would end up underground, about 30m inside the Carriéres de Paris, or as some of you might know them, the catacombs. Time between trips shortened until I only popped out for supplies before heading back underground to explore the forgotten world of the city of love and day trips became night trips became camping weekends. Amusement parks, catacombs, power stations, rooftops, these are a few of my favourite things. La Cigale

I'm Hootie, an "older than most" female in Southside VA. Much of my "exploring" here is rural with the exception of abandoned textile factories lumber/grist mills and tunnels. I've got a thing for houses, hotels and schools. I'm always looking for the next abandonment, either riding out or Google mapping and GIS databases. There's so much I haven't done or seen. I am usually solo and would really like meet up with the kind of people who love this as much as I do. I will travel a reasonable distance to hook up with others who have places to check out. Camera, headlamp and digital recorder are never out of "grab & go" reach. Thanks for a chance to introduce myself, I would love to meet some like minded people!

Hahahaha, that's how I felt when it came to making my "introduce yourself" spiel?!

Hey guys, my name is John and im currently a student at VCU. I've seen a bunch of UE videos and whatnot before and have always found it interesting. Being in an urban setting I would really like to get out and explore. With this being said I have no clue where to get started. I have come here to learn more, make some friends, and see places that have been cut off from normal everyday traffic.

Hello! My name is Matt, i'm a kid from Texas who is very interested in this hobby. I would absolutely love to go check out some abandoned building somewhere. Depending on the project, it would make excellent B roll. One place I've been fascinated with lately is the Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells, TX- but for some reason it's been closed off to the public, so trespassing is more serious and permission is not typically given. If i ever did go anywhere like that though, you could bet i'd bring my camcorder. That is, as long as slender-man isn't around. He hates cameras. Anyway, just thought i'd say Hello...

I am indeed new, and this seems to be an appropriate place to introduce myself. My name is Andy, and I have lived in Orange County (the SoCal one) my entire life. Like the other 20 million some-odd million people in the southern half of California, I have almost immediate access to the Mojave Desert, which is home to thousands of isolated, derelict, and abandoned places. It's taken me 18 years, but I've finally discovered not only these place's existence, but also the exceedingly interesting legacies they carry to this day. When I'm not planning desert expeditions, I'm most likely researching colleges, writing music (both for my band and my church), studying weather, or sleeping . That about sums up my simple city-life. Not sure how many people read this thread, but to whoever does, thanks for taking the time to read this, and have a nice day/night! -Andy P.S.-In case anyone is curious, my name refers to my favorite location (so far).

No, Ethan, I don't have your lens cap...
I've been somewhat interested in UE for several years now but this is the first I've had with any sort of community involvement. I've always had a bit of an obsession with abandoned sites but mostly I just like going places I've never been before for the sake of going places I've never been before.

Hey guys nice to meet you all! You can call me Crescent, I am an urban explorer based out of the Tampa Bay area who has done quite a bit of urban exploring around the area for the past three years. I have done a lot of this with my friend and fellow explorer who is an artist and the one who takes the photos I will be posting shortly. I am more or the searcher for said locations, so I hope to meet the rest of you and update the section for Florida on locations because it is quite bare in my opinion! I look forward to getting to know you guys and meeting up with like minded explorers in the area. Till then, keep exploring, we need explorers in this world.

Hey everyone, My name is Headhunter, I've explored with friends in the past but am only now looking deeper into the Urbex community. Ever since my first exploration I've fallen in love with exploring and photographing decaying/abandoned places. I currently reside in Western Massachusetts and since moving here have been hoping to find some fellow urban explorers looking to meet up. I'm looking forward to talking to you all.

My name is Sam. Just found this site and have been reading for 3 days, the required grace period before I could post. I used to UE when I was younger (20 years ago!) I just did not know it was a thing back then. I recently found myself looking for interesting locations to take photos and that led me here. I live on the EEEEEast side of Houston and look forward to exploring some the location in and around the area... hopefully I can find some new stuff for everyone along the way. from my first UE in some time... I'll post another thread about this local in the South Forum.

Hi UER! I'm new to both the forums and UE in general. I've recently moved back to my hometown after a few years abroad, and I want to get to know the city in a different way that I used to. That, and I've been feeling a "calling" from the night. An urge to just go outside at night with no clear destination. Luckily I have a friend who shares my passion for photography and liked the idea. We've been scouting some possible locations and we finally got into one two nights ago. It was a football field. Not the most exciting, I know, but it was our first, we were scared shitless and loved it! I'll post some pictures "soon" (when I get them developed, yeah, I'm from that era). Looking forwards to learning from all of you. And shoot a PM if you ever come down to Uruguay (no "you are gay" jokes, please, those were already old when the British invaded ).

So I'm a bit young compared to the majority out here, but I have been exploring for about a year now. My friends and I are intensely into it. I found out about this the same way as most of you, looking into abandoned buildings and eventually found out about UE. I always wanted to go into this abandoned daycare since I was little and then one day I convinced my friends we should. I only found the whole official name three days ago. I hope to find people to explore with and I wish to show the beauty of my favorite places. Currently all I have of them are unedited low quality film. Please contact me, I am looking forward to making friends and contributing to this forum!
