hello all!

I am nick and I am a photographer. I just recently found this site a couple weeks ago and I must say, I haven't been this interested in any thing as neat as UE in quite a while. I am terribly fascinated with the thought of seeing the way things were like before the time of outsourcing and most of our modern-day bullshit products. I am in the denver area and would love do do some exploring. PM me if interested in exploring.

And i only explore with the strobe setting. The standard setting is for squares. People tend to get a little upset with me, but it's the only way to truly live. -Relik

Hello,

I am Wayne from the SF Bay Area, California, when I am at now. I have done a bit of UE in Tennessee, but I generally chickened out in trespassing. Playing around with photography right now, checking things out.

Hello!

My name is Farrah and I'm a photographer! I just moved up to Minneapolis from Iowa and am super excited about it all. I did a lot of exploring in Iowa as there were countless abandoned trailers, flood houses, barns and some old factories to explore on any given day. I really hope I can be accepted as a full member soon so I can do some great exploring up in this new town!

Hello,

I'm from Edmonton, Alberta (born in Saskatoon). I came across this site after finding a drain that intrigued me, and wondering if there were more that could be explored. I only have a few expeditions under my belt, but hopefully that will be changing soon as there is a number of places I have plans to explore. If anyone else from Edmonton would like to join me, feel free to send a PM.

Hi all,

I'm a new explorer in the Seattle area. I look forward to exploring with you all (through your photos, in the case of all you non PNW folks)! I'm an avid photographer and can't wait to see some of the history of the beautiful PNW! Best of luck to everyone.

Hey everyone, I'm Jeremy. I've already had an account on here for over a year but haven't really done anything with it until now. I've been introduced to this site by one of my friends already on here. I've already been to 2 events (clocktoberfest '12, and chipex '13). Since my first explore, I was hooked. The other explorers I've met so far are all really cool people and I'm glad to have met the ones I have so far and hope to meet many more of you in the future!

I'm new to the site but have done some exploring over the years. I'm in Euless, TX. I like cats and have too many [so if you or someone you know may want a kittie I have a few I'd like to find a good home for].

I've never had the presence of mind to take a camera [most explorations were very spontaneous] so I don't have any pictures yet. I actually found this site looking for info on the Eastern Star building in Arlington. I now know it is torn down...sad day.

My 1st exploration was the house in Arlington referred to the Butcher's House [now burned to the grond but still a cool basement foundation]. It was probably about 1998 and a friend and I were driving to find a vet office for his sister. We drove by this big house with a For Sale sign out front really set back from the road on a hill. We turned around to go check it out as we were thinking about buying a house [back when the market was still awesome and anyone could get a ridiculous loan!]. We drove up the driveway and there was a car parked. While we were getting out 2 cute girls ran out to the parked car and sped down the driveway and sadly we never saw them again.

We immediately knew that this was not a house to buy but wanted to check it out. Access was easy, as anyone who had been there knows. We toured teh entire house and when we were leaving we saw a small shack on teh back of the property. We off roaded a bit and it was about a 6'x6' room with a hole in the roof. What really caught our attention was a HUGE vulture sitting on the edge of the hole. While vultures are common in the area, that is the only one that I've seen that was that large. We thought, there must be something in that room to eat or he wouldn't be hanging out. So....like any good explorer, we went to take a look. There was no door on the room and we slowly made it steps closer as the vulture watched us. I stuck my head inside and it had the most horrible stench! Like death! It was absolutely disgusting! So with my shirt pulled over my face and holding my breath I stuck my head in the doorway again. It looked as if the room were used for the power breakers at some point decades ago. Looking up at the ceiling, it was made of a sheet of wood with a square hole cut out, I noticed that it looked soaked in blood. My friend wanted to boost me up so I could see what was rotting up there but I'm just not that adventurous. Either someone had put a LOT of dead animals there, teh vulture was using it as his pantry or someone stuffed dead bodies up there. No telling really.....I didn't look, but the blood soaking through made it look quite full so it could go either way. I went back to this house a few times over the years and even a couple times after the chared remains were removed.

Another friend of mine's mom keeps all kinds of strange newspaper clippings from DFW. She had a clipping from a paper from the 70's [I believe] that said that the person that lived there was a butcher [hence the glass door for a front door and the basement meat locker] that killed his family and put them in the meat locker. I've read other rumors online throughout the years, too bad it's gone.

So I wanted to check out the Eastern Star and I've wanted to for a long time. I couldn't remember what street it was on so I google Mapped with Street View until I found it. Then I found this site and it's been torn down and I drove by anyway [who ever believes what they read online!?]. It's definitely gone

I was also thinking about checking out Elm Wood Sanitorium but I also read that it is gone. I'll have to start looking for some other new places. So....if anyone is planning any exploring in the Tarrant County area I'd love to tag along and check it out! It's been quite awhile

Hey all!
Name's Aiden. I've been interested in exploring for a long time, but was never in a place that had much to do with abandoned or vaguely interested buildings, but I recently moved to Austin, Texas and am finding new things every day!

Feel free to Pm me if you're in the area and want to explore together.

Alright time to post
Hello, I'm 'brad', I've been an addict for 1 year, i first found out about EU through the UrbanX explorers website, and have always been interested but never actually done it, borderline obsession with the pictures though, I've got a pretty basic set up going, and am now just looking for people to explore with, I dont like doing things alone and get extremely nervous when alone, but with another person am very relaxed, anyway, Maryville TN, if youre close by

Apparently that DID just happen. And I AM proud of it

Hey all,

I don't usually post under new member threads, but I figure it'd be best to make me a bit more approachable. I'll be brief.

I'm Paul and I'm based in Chicago. I've gotten into UE over the past year and have been out to a few different sites in the Chicago area, accompanied by a friend, since.

I'm motivated by curiosity and my desire to shoot.

Hey all, my name's John and I live up in Southern Maine. I'm not much of a photographer, but I may have to start after seeing some of the sweet photos people here get. I've been an "urban explorer" for about four years or so (on and off) now, although back then it was more of a "hey, we're bored so let's check out this abandoned place" type thing. I'm hoping to find some people in the New England area who know some awesome places because I'm trying to find more, and hopefully on some of my adventures over the next few months, I can find some to share as well!

Hello, I am new to this site but have been exploring everything for years now. Old manmade structures are my favorite and I can be a good resource if anyone is looking for places in SE New Mexico. I have been in several missle silos, been to a couple of ghost towns and even a water treatment facility. I look forward to making some new friends in here.

Hey everyone, I am a new member here from Long Island although not quite as new to UE. I have always loved exploration and photography, and especially the combination of the two. As well, I have a job that affords me access into some really neat places sometimes so I am looking forward to posting with photos and recommendations. I have only been shooting with my phone for now as I do not own a real camera anymore/yet, although I should be able to invest in a DSLR soon so I can produce better results. I look forward to talking with and meeting you guys, as well as expanding my knowledge and experience. See you all out there!

Hi everybody. I'm a new UE member from Indianapolis and would love to get out and see the sites with people who enjoy the occasional dilapidated building. I've been exploring for a little while but haven't had much luck. I'm just starting to take an interest in the photography aspect.

Hi everyone!
I'm an urban explorer from the Finger Lakes, NY region. I've been into it for a couple of years now starting in college but I'm new to this site. If you're in the area or near Rochester or Syracuse, hit me up. I try to get out there as much as possible and would love to explore with some new people.
