Hah, you can scratch out that "not really into photography" part now.

I feel like UER's almost a "pics-or-it-didn't-happen" sort of place. I always feel kinda weird on here after a sweet explore that I was too involved in to snap even some cell phone pictures, but most times the thrill is enough and the stories have to live via word of mouth.

I tried to get into photography but it ended up not being for me. Gunna have to settle for underexposed shots and uncut shaky bullet camera footage

Huh. When I went to my first site (or my first site in years), I couldn't not take pictures, but it was mostly the allure of awesome graffiti. But I really liked your pics in the stealth camping thread--obviously not art shots, but it's nice to have the memories. I probably won't ever move beyond cell or point and shoot pics.

Hey everyone, I'm new here (but not new to urban exploration)! I've lived in Massachusetts my whole life and have poked around in my fair share of places. I hope to check out many more places, and although I'm usually a loner, perhaps meet up with some fellow explorers.

I'm not new to urbexing, I'm a young asshole from Brooklyn who likes exploring and writing stuff on walls sometimes.
I'm a painter but I'm bad at it.

I joined this place so I may become enlightened, I'm currently looking into squatting, creating my own secret base somewhere outside of the city, clean that place up, have mail delivered and never have to pay property tax.

Have you looked into NY state adverse possession laws? If you are getting mail delivered and generally publicly inhabiting and maintaining the place, it could be yours after a period of years, usually 5-20.

edit: I guess you'd probably have to pay property tax after you took possession, though.

Hello all! This website is very interesting!
I am glad I stumbled across it by word of mouth from a hobo of all people lol. A little about myself: my wife and I travel in our RV when we're not planted back home spending time with our grandkids. In our old age we play it safe mostly nowadays and vicariously explore through the internet but there are times when I work up the strength to take a look inside a building allowing the wife doesn't dare follow me lol.
God bless you all and be safe out there in this weird and age old(like me lol) hobby that we are drawn to.

New England has some seriously awesome history and architecture. Only been exploring east coast once, but the drains and rooftops were par-none. Hope you have a great time exploring out there and hopefully finding a group to explore with too.

Just getting into urbex, but I've loved photography for some time now. The two go hand-in-hand, and I'm stoked to learn about more places to explore on this site. Here are some photos I took inside an abandoned house that partially burned down.

Hello, everyone. My name is James and i recently moved to Baltimore from Li, NY.
I love to see how many derelict places reflect the culture of the times they represent.

Aside from ue, I'm also into music, cars and swing dance.

Yup!

Hi all!

My name is Stacy and I live in Sarasota. I have always been intrigued by old and abandoned places. I went to a site in NC this summer to photograph and now I'm hooked! I'm new to all of this and am looking forward to meeting and learning from you!

Hey guys. New to the forum. Moved from Birmingham UK 3 years ago. Used to be a member of 28DaysLater.co.uk back in the day, now living in Atlanta GA. Used to explore a lot of abandoned buildings, warehouses, and other various industrial areas around the UK since I was a kid, way before digital cameras were invented. Found some pretty rad places, including a nuclear base close to where I was born with over 9 miles of underground tunnels that were built during the Cold War. I'll try dig some pics up. Since moving here found a few good places, more than likely already known on the forum. Gonna be going round to a couple of places this weekend to get some pics. Looking forward to getting to know some of you lot.

Hi guys! I'm currently residing in one of Canada's biggest cities. I've been doing some impromptu/haphazard exploring growing up.

Trying to be more active now and I've went on a couple of meets so far locally. Look forward to learning from you all!

Hello! I've been interested in UE for a while, I attended a UER meet in Toronto a few months back, but wasn't able to make the others before I moved. I did some exploring with a few friends when I was living in the Buffalo, NY area. I moved recently and currently reside near St. Paul, MN.

I'm trying to get a good start in UE now that I'm settled down. I've been tying to find some sites, but am having trouble in an area that is off so well economically. Willing to travel for UE, but would really like to find more experienced explorers to get me up to speed before I travel too far.

I've got a strong desire for tinkering and devices, and a knack for stealth. I've also got an interest for photography, philosophy, and exploration, as all explorers seem to have. I have a grappling hook, am making a device that will be able to see the IR spots of cameras, and will probably move on to a bump key set next.

I'd highly suggest grabbing an action cam. I've got a Sony AS-15, but the GoPro Hero 3+ looks really good. Attach to head, press record, and explore. Image stabilization is a must IMO, shaky and blurry footage can really ruin a good video.

Welcome to the forums! I am from the Buffalo area myself. I would love to hear any good locations or urbex stories from your time in the area. You can send me a PM if you like.

hello everyone, im a student and urban explorer from winnipeg canada who has been interested in ue ever since my cousin broke me into a construction site when i was about 11. i have an affinity for heights and buildings under construction, the first of which are few and far between here. ive been meaning to be more involved with this forum for awhile so that i can add to the databases and hopefully find a few locations there for myself. that and the fact that you seem like a lovely bunch. i hope to learn lots from you all and contribute some in return.

Hey everybody,

I just recently got back into exploring, but spent my whole childhood going through construction sites and abandoned power facilities. I'm currently based in Atlanta, GA. I consider myself not that great a photographer, but find if I take 200 pictures on an outing, then at least 5 of them turn out good. I'm looking forward to meeting / exploring with other people in the Atlanta area.
