My name is Justin, currently in Toronto, ON. I started a few years ago with some friends in university going pretty much anywhere we could enter or crawl into. We went to roofs and steam tunnels. Never will forget the first time being in one of those. I hope to explore more in the coming months, years, ... millennia?

Hello!

I live in the Minneapolis Saint Paul area, and am new to exploring. Looks liked I totally missed the bus on a lot of the legendary sites the Action Squad and other Early 2000's explorers were able to see, but seems like most of the cool drains are still around. So I bought a decent flashlight and some good rubber boots to begin my explorations!

Hope all is well with everyone, take care.

Hiya! I'm Connor. He/Him/His. Been lurking for a while, mostly because anxiety makes me *meep* about things. Anywhooo.... Located in Boston, MA. Have floated around the New England area for most of my life (I'm 25) and have Explored since college when a friend from MIT got me into it. I adore history and mystery so UE tends to be for me a step back in time. Favorite adventure by far has to be Pleasure Beach when I was living down in New Haven, CT. The theatre there is just so beautifully intact. Lights in the air and all! Followed closely by Holyland, USA, mostly for the giggles and tiny houses. In my "normal" life, I work for a doggie daycare, am an audio engineer for theatre, and a freelance LGBTQ+ Educator. Wicked looking to make some more friends my age into this stuff, so hit me up!

Hey! I'm Josephine, and I'm originally from Ithaca, NY. I moved to New York City last month and I'm hoping to go to some cool places in the area. I started exploring last year when some friends and I found an enormous abandoned warehouse and I've been finding and exploring abandoned buildings around central New York since. I visited an old hospital in NYC but that has been the only urbex I've done here so far. I'd love to find someone in the NYC area who knows some good places.

Hey, I'm Criss. I've been doing UE since the 1980's. Found this forum in 2005, and found out that my favorite hobby actually has a name! I made an account, and promptly got distracted by life, and finally clued in that I need to participate (only took 10 years). Actually, I live in a small town that is isolated by ferries in all directions out, and I don't get out often enough, and there are not a lot of fresh UE opportunities for me here. But when I travel, the only thing I want to do is find old mines and other interesting industrial places. I'll have to get out around my town here, and take some pictures for you all

^Welcome aboard! You'll get plenty of photography feedback here. I'd suggest making use of the critique board if you're up to it and want some really good feedback. I took a look at your site and you have some nice photos, but your website navigation and how you display the pages are absolutely god awful. It looks really nice and modern, but the functionality just isn't there.

You should try replacing the icons for navigation with actual words (especially since other than the home icon none of them make sense). You also need to change it so that when you click on a navigation item you're actually directed to that page without having to click the four squares in the lower right to see the content. I thought the site was broken at first. Aside from those two crippling flaws, it does look very nice though. Looks like you've already been to some cool locations, looking forward to seeing more photos from you.

Hey, I'm new here. Been exploring for years as I bounce around the country.
St. Louis, Joplin, Some in Portland, and now recently in Colorado.

Most of my serious stuff was done in the St. Louis region, and I'm just now starting to locate things in Colorado.

Happy hunting!

The name's Alex. Nice to meet you.

I'm from Southern Ontario and I'm in my late twenties. I've been doing this since my early teens but haven't really gotten involved with the larger community until now.

My group of friends and I routinely check out cool sites around Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, North Bay, and basically anywhere within a five hour drive of our home base. I'm not much of a photographer myself, since I prefer to commit my experiences to memory, but a few of my buddies are.

I'm also a maritime historian currently working on my thesis, but I've only ever explored a handful of abandoned ships. I'd love to check out the SS United States or the unused portions of the RMS Queen Mary someday. I'm also an avid hiker, camper, and creative writer. Good to meet you all on here, and I hope to meet in person eventually!

Hey Everyone! My name is Noé. I'm from Seattle, Washington. In 8 days I'll be 29. I'm a tactical vehicle mechanic in the USAF. The military has given me the opportunity to travel the world and explore new areas. The next 2 years will finish up my 4 year tour up here in Anchorage, Alaska. I am a firm believer of skipping "tourist traps" and getting to know the locals to find those undocumented places. I absolutely love exploring everything from caves, abandoned buildings, old military sites, and basically any place that gives you the vibe that you really shouldn't be there. There's nothing more exhilarating than thinking you're exploring a forgotten land alone only to hear the echo of footsteps or crashing debris in the distance!

I stumbled upon this site back in 2010 because I had exhausted all of the "secrets" in my local area (at the time, Seattle, WA). I immediately made the account and started searching around, but the hobby kind of lost it's flare and I moved on to other things. Fast forward 2 years, I joined the military and started meeting all sorts of new people sharing stories of places you only hear about in whispers. It completely rekindled my need for exploration and with that epic adventures ensued. Since then I've explored miles of lava tubes and abandoned towns, searched areas not open to the general public (sadly can't take pictures there), stumbled upon ghost mines with all equipment still in place, and just enjoyed the opportunity to meet adventurous locals every where I go.

Now I'm going to be honest, I completely forgot this site existed until I looked up an old boat I found in the middle of a frozen flat... and lo and behold up pops this sight with my account info still saved! I can't believe I forgot about such an amazing resource when it comes to networking with other responsible infiltrators! SO here I am, back in force to share and listen to stories, find new friends, and learn about those places unspoken. I'm going to have to dig through old memory cards to find my pictures from past adventures, but I'll try to get some posted up when I find them. I'm glad to be here and strive for that one day to get the almighty full membership!

Safe travels and I look forward to meet up with some of you soon!

Hi!
My name is Kelli, I just joined and looking to see more sites seen by others for tips. I've been to a few places with just my boyfriend. Some have been very easy/public access, other's not so.
I can't find much public online and it's hard to find stuff- hoping to find tips from others in the southeast (southeast GA) - I'm planning on taking a small road trip and would like to take scenic routes to find abandoned buildings/establishments?
My boyfriends into the photography side of things - i like maybe a few pics with my phone and the "no one's been here in forever" feeling. I will post some photos soon

Hi, I'm 23, I've been watching this site for a few years now, never thought of joining for some reason. The recent demolition of the Doraville GM plant made me want to join as I REALLY wanted to go there, but I could never find a partner. I'm a sysadmin but I really like to work on cars and be outdoors and such. I have had an interest in urban exploring since I was a young child. Growing up, there was this house in out backyard that my grandparents built and I would often sneak in there and explore it, it was 2 stories and every bit of it was amazing. There was even a few times where my Grandpa would take me in there and talk about building it and what not. Looking back, it was probably no the best idea because everyone felt like they couldn't stay far enough away from it. But I just couldn't get enough of it. They ended up tearing it down when my grandparents sold the property, wish I could have went and explored it one last time being a little older to actually be able to take it all in.

So a little about me, I grew up exploring abandoned areas. It's a family hobby. I was born in Missouri, but I travel a lot, currently in Nashville for the next 6 months. Three demon children keep me from exploring a whole lot, but it doesn't stop me from drooling over the photos and story's in the forums. So that's why I'm here.

Hey there. I'm Eli, 23, a dude in North Carolina who's been interested in UE for a while, but who never had friends in school to go exploring with. I haven't done much yet save one house across from my parents' place. My wife and I have been scouting for places more than anything, and we're both interested in what the area has to offer. I joined the site because it seems to be an invaluable resource for everything UE, and so we can become a part of the community. Take care, everyone.

Hello all, somewhat new explorer here. I'm a 23yo who just moved to the Denver area from Wisconsin. I started exploring with my college buddies by climbing campus buildings. Since then we kept our eyes peeled for climbable buildings, and from there we got into exploring abandoned buildings and construction sites. After the move, I wasn't sure where to begin and ended up stumbling upon this community. If there's anyone in the area who wants to do some exploring, hit me up! In the mean time, I'll try and contribute to the site with my own adventures.

Hi All!

I'm new to the UE community. I live in Toronto and I'm 32. I'm a documentary filmmaker and I'm really interested in learning about UE and the amazing community that surrounds it.

I learned about UE recently when I read about it on the anniversary of Ninjalicious's passing and I think it's a really interesting way to engage with the city around you. I grew up in Toronto, and it's fascinating that there's a whole hidden side of the city that I never even knew about.

I'd like to learn more from those members of the community that really see UE as more than simply thrill-seeking. It seems like this is much bigger than that -- almost a way to take back part of our environment and learn more about our surroundings.

I've never formally been exploring, but I spent a lot of my childhood exploring abandoned barns and farmhouses near my cottage in Peterborough. I'd really love to meet up and do some exploring with people in downtown TO (I'm a little nervous to go by myself.)

If anyone would like to chat, I'd really appreciate a message

Looking forward to going to the meet-up on Nov 21st! Always happy to make new friends.

Hi all!

My name is Bekah, I'm from Georgia in the Atlanta area. I've always loved urban exploring and I actually have lurked around here for a while, but haven't really been an active explorer the past couple years, but a couple friends and I have been trying to commit to visiting somewhere odd/out of the way at least once every couple of weeks. I'm a professional wedding photographer and exploring is always a fun way to use my photography skills in new ways.

Just hit up the old Prison Farm in Atlanta a couple days ago and I'm ready to get back out from behind my usual 9 to 5 desk again.

Hello everyone!

I'm new to UER, but I've been doing UE for awhile now! I'm not really familiar with using a forum so I'm sorry if this isn't very interesting...

A little about me! My name is Brigette and I am based out of Toronto, although I love taking road trips to find new and exciting locations! My main reason for doing Urbex is photography - I love trying to capture the loss of "humanity" (if you will) in an urban location. I try to do a lot of exploring in the states as well, there's always something cool to see!

Other than photography, I'm a big reader and avid snowboarder - and that pretty much sums me up! Looking forward to seeing lots of cool pictures from other Urbexers, and hopefully you'll enjoy some of mine!
