Oh god, coons. Nothing like getting into what looks like a nice old house in the middle of nowhere and finding out it's wall to wall with raccoon shit. And yes, stumbling upon one in the dark can be quite unnerving!

I cut and paste the pics from yesterday to my desktop and then that computer crashed. Its mangled. Hopefully I can rescue them from the hard drive in a few days, but now I need to replace it and reinstall my op systems. Grrr. Thankfully I have 3 computers so I'm never really screwed but it'll be a bit before I know if those pics can be saved. Anyway, it was a fun morning Dallas.

I'm constantly shocked this place never gets boarded up or protected in the slightest. I guess being truly in a remote, rarely traveled area helps abundantly.

Nice!! Love the stone on the house.

You come beating like moth's wings, spastic and violently. Whipping me into a storm, shaking me down to the core.

It's even worse when they're the big raccoons, like the size of a wash basin or an extremely overweight cat...at least those were the types of raccoons we had on the east coast/boonies.

Great set of photos, dallas! Building looks fairly clean/intact, any idea how old it is?

Interesting set. Do you have any details about the house you can share? History etc? Always nice to have a story mixed in with the photos

So far my only experience has been racoon poop and dead/decomposing ones, but those suckers can be lil bastards.

Everything is sweetened by risk.

I have no history of this house. Although in this exact area some may remember... The poor blackstock boys who were kept in cages by there adoptive parents. I wonder if this is possibly the house? Might be a stretch. But its a tiny community so 1 horrible crime and only 1 vacant house? If anyone could help with history that would make me very happy
