When a portable fan is not enough...?

I've finally been exploring long enough that I can't tell you how many houses I've been to without really thinking about it. Definitely an awesome milestone. But I do know that at each and every one of them, after only fifteen minutes my hair will be dripping with sweat. I live near Atlanta, and yeah... The weather's never mild down here. What do you suggest I do to cool off? Small portable fans and water bottles are relieving, but as soon as I put them away it's right back to being hot. Should I open every window I come by, or make sure to take small breaks outside every now and then? Or should I just bring more water so as not to dehydrate, and deal with it?

Unfortunately it's just one of those things. Drink alot of water, take your shirt off if need be.

Besides, if you're not smelly and wet after either exploring or sex, you're fucking it up.

I agree with the above. If you're not breaking a sweat you're not really exploring. Feeling sweaty is never fun, but that's about the only drawback. I mean, who cares what you look like when you're exploring, you're bound to get dirty no matter what.

On really hot days (I live in Minnesota, so we don't have enough of those), I wear a hat. I still get sweaty, but hats w/a sweatband help.

Like Towelie always says, don't forget to bring a towel!

In Japan, they make custom-sized towels that are meant to be worn as scarves. Best absorption power you can get, and it makes you look like a Japanese gangsta.

getting sweaty--its what happens when you exert yourself--don't worry, its normal--just keep exploring.

I'm very rarely covered in sweat now a days since I have lost weight. So I'm going ask, are you overweight at all? When I was big I would walk like 30 feet and be covered in sweat. But since I have dropped the weight I am much cooler, and don't sweat nearly as much. Just my initial reaction since I have been there before.

Here in SoCal, the summer heat is very dry (in most places). So I only tend to sweat when I'm actually exerting myself. But that's fine with me cuz then I know I'm doing something more worthwhile than sitting on my ass in front of my computer.
And I do use sweatbands too, cuz I can't stand sweat rolling into my eyes, or dripping onto my glasses then getting hit with the dust down in mines and turning to mud.

However, when I'm in places like Texas, Missouri, Illinois... the summer is humid, and I tend to sweat just being outside at all. A humid, moist, clingy perspiration. So, there's that.

In the winter you can always put more clothes on, in the summer you can only take so many off till there are no more to take off.

I suggest you explore naked. But not around more seasoned explorers, noone likes seeing naked n00bs. You could throw a Naked N00b Summer Exploring meetup.

**EDIT**

Oh, and if you don't sweat during sex either, you should get off your damn back and quit being such a lazy bum and try putting some effort into it. There's nothing sexier than dripping sweat all over the person you're sexorz'ing. It lets them know you care.

Give a person a match and they'll be warm for a minute, but light them on fire and they'll be warm for the rest of their life. =)

Going outside on occasion to get out of the stuff building is a good idea, just for personal relief, but mostly...just put on your big girl britches and get sweaty. Living in Texas, last weekend it was 102 out and about 85% humidity. I got home and my clothes were sopping wet, but it kept me kinda cool while out. xD

Don't forget water. Even if the water doesn't stay cold, it is one of the most necessary things. Staying hydrated is more important than worrying about getting a little sweaty.

No, I'm not. It's just very humid, I guess. And it doesn't help that the vast majority of my shirts are black.
Though, I am incredibly out of shape. Last year I ran 5Ks and always finished around 30 minutes, but then suddenly it hit me... I hate running. Strangely I've lost weight since then (I take medicine that kills my appetite as a side-effect), but yeah. I suppose it could have something to do with that.

I don't mean to be a dick with this, but if you're hefty, or out of shape, get on a treadmill and lose it.

I can say this because I used to be 350lbs, and I was so out of shape that walking to my car would wind me. Now I'm 275, about right for someone who is 6'4 and has my build, and the difference in how much heat you can take before you start sweating is insanely more when you're in shape.

Look into the Under Armour skull caps or headbands. They are a lifesaver for me.

Fuck treadmills, just explore harder. I've gotten into the best shape of my life from this hobby, it can at times require a huge amount of work and endurance. I've also gotten into some of my best shape for this hobby. I do as many chin-ups and pushups as I can stand to just for those places where the first floor isn't enough.

Every answer I'm going to have is probably going to be explore harder.

Freezing a few water bottles can be a big help, at least you'll have cold water for most of the day.

Under Armour HeatGear tops and sports bras are amazing. I first found them when exploring my way down the coast from NY to FL and back up through the likes of TN and AL in the middle of July... just incredible.

Get down, girl, go 'head, get down.

You could get a cooling vest, they will do the deal for you. Mostly for about three hours.
We already had it above 102 for a couple of days. We might hit the 11o again soon, so maybe I get a cooling vest for when I work outside.
