| | | Hey everyone, So I posted on the "introduce yourself" thread and read a number of other threads but now I'm not sure exactly how to start off... I have a number of photo sets from trips I have been on. I assume spam posting photos is not good etiquette. Should I be responding to others' posts before I start adding my own photos and experiences? I want to get involved but I certainly do not want to start off on the wrong foot. Thanks!

Radioactivity, its in the air for you & me

| | | If you have many pictures and sets I would simply choose a couple, maybe 10 at most that you consider to be your favorites and post them in your regions forum. Follow them up with a brief explanation or short story explaining why you consider the photo to be a favorite of yours and what it represents to you. There is no right or wrong way to do things on here, just be prepared for rude people to leave snarky comments, b/c they definitely will. But honestly, who really cares, this hobby is about you having fun with your friends and sharing what you choose to share

| | | Though I don't post my pictures here, from what I see unless it's recent usually people create their own topics do a little write up and post there pictures, usually in the region they are located. Or if you want critiquing on your photos, post in the critiquing thread. Oh there is a data base that you can add to, but I'm not familiar to that yet...

| | | Definitely post a set of some shots in the Northeast Regional forum. Either do like a collection of stuff or just a set from one place without giving away any pertinent information on the location.

| | | Definitely post some of your choice shots. People love to see the places you've been and (if you want) your camera technique. It's also a great way to connect with people, as some may have visited the same site. Being polite and friendly is always good, but don't be afraid to voice your opinion as long as it's in an appropriate way. It's great that you introduced yourself, so now it's just time to share your experiences.

| | | Welcome! The main thing to do--which will forever determine whether or not people like you even years down the line--is to uncheck the create popups option when uploading your shots. Better yet, use an alternate hosting site for your shots...the uploader isn't just inconvenient, it also reduces the quality unbearably. Other than that, just let rude comments not get to you like water off a duck's back. Plenty of people will dick at you from time to time with little to no reason.
