Opened in 1930, The Gingerbread Castle was known as the first destination amusement park in the country. For generations children and adults enjoyed the wonder and fascination of the real-life fairy tale. In the late 1970's, however, the Castle was mostly forgotten due to changing times and interests.

It was abandoned. Throughout these years, the Castle and the surrounding property endured a string of various uses from a haunted attraction, to a restaurant, and even a strip club at one point. There was an attempt to restore the Castle that ultimately went nowhere and ended in controversy between that previous owner and the town. In 2012, Preservation New Jersey declared the site one of the top 10 "Most Endangered Historic Places" in the state.

But now there is new life coming back to the Castle from the current owners... The original Welcome Center across the road has already been restored and is used as headquarters for the owners' business: Amazing Stone Works. They are using their personal income from that business to preserve the Castle.

That's a nice little UE doc! I liked the subject and the historic footage. The tracking shots were nice. The audio in the beginning when you guys were walking around inside sounds a little distant and tinny, but it was an all around solid job!
