A short vid I put together of my solo mission into the Backwash drain, Portland Maine. I filmed the vid with my Nikon D5000 18-55mm lens. The photos were taken with the same camera. Edited on Final Cut Pro. Cheers all!

Nice. Your camera has good low-light capability. Most of the video cameras that we've taken underground mine exploring need a ton of light. It would be interesting to see yours in a setting where there is a bit more open space.

I used to shoot underwater video so I have a feel for how much work it can be. Of course that was the olden days when we used video recorders to do the editing. Ugh.

Awesome! So eerily peaceful... I've never personally done a drain but this makes me want to try some...

Not knowing what's around the next corner. Good job, man.

Thanks Abby & CatAndTie!

It is zero visibility down there without a torch. The flashlight I was using pumps out a shit ton of lume's. So that was very helpful in the video capture and taking the long exposure photographs. I plan on getting an even stronger light that will cost me $230, but well worth the cost if you plan on making films underground.

Cool - thanks for sharing. The constant sound of water rushing makes for a tense feeling...

Thanks Tenebrae, That sound is from a waterfall just up ahead. I waited till I had a buddy to go with me before we made it in that far. Over a mile in. The waterfall is beautiful. Here's a photo of it. The photo does no justice to the raw power and beauty of the real thing.
